I am running a campaign currently set in Kyonin with a 4th level elven party. I am asking two things:
1. Do you know of any encounter tables for an elven forest, or specifically for Kyonin that fit within a 2-6CR?
2. Knowing what you know about Kyonin, any idea for encounters in that range?

Considering the proximity to Treerazer, plants with the Fiendish template might be appropriate. A Mandragora would be a CR 4 plant creature. You could also have them fight a forest drake (get the young adventures a taste of dragonslaying). And fey are always an interesting encounter. You might be able to get away with slightly higher CR fey, given the elven racial resistances the party would have.

Elves of Golarion mentions '...several unnaturally
large breeds of wasps lair in undisturbed glens across
the kingdoms, which the elves simply laugh about and do
their best not to provoke. Most troublesome are the vicious
skullwasps, hand-sized insects that attack one target to the suicidal exclusion of any other consideration. Killing
wasps in Kyonin is considered bad form, but tolerable in
the case of self-defense.'
Hope this helps for ideas
Remember that it's YOUR game - theres is nothing stopping you going against canon/Paizo unless either you or players seriously object - you could have another NPC team of elf forest wardens tracking the group to enter the ranger class - they attack the group, not to kill but to knock out. when they get back the players are handed their 'stolen gear' and thanked for their part in helping some NPCs become rangers

You clould rip off film and TV - two groups of FEY are at war. The players stumble across a small skirmish, do they help out one side, therefore immediately becoming enemies of the other? Do they play each side off against each other or are they are then asked to mediate a peace treaty? This is based loosley on a Clint Eastwood film, i think Fist Full of Dollars....

Don't just consider things that walk about under the trees. Also consider things that burrow underground. That opens up whole other realms (literally!) of possible enemies and plot points.
I introduced serpentfolk in my River Kingdoms homebrew game. There's all sorts of potential with that race. I plan on circling back to them at some point in the future.

You guys gave me gold! Thanks! I love the idea of the wasps and I can easily imagine the corruption of treerazor creating fiendish wasps. How awesome some of those encounters would be. Combining that with the underground idea I could have a group of mites riding on fiendish giant wasps. I love the forest drake idea and will definitely create a fiendish forest drake as a boss for a little drama I have unfolding.
The war idea is inspiring. Why not a demonic conflict?
I have been planning on having the party explore an elven ruin to find a weapon against a demon encroachment assuming that the ruin was evacuated due to the starfall but how about it have been taken down by the nightripper (demon lord who used to be a mortal serial killer) instead? Some hauntings paired with demonic conflicts that turn into conflicts between the party with the night ripper's demons, tree razors demons and corrupted fey and plants with underground creatures! i am set! You guys rock! Thanks so much.
