Greetings,
I'm brainstorming how to convert Dak'kon from Planescape:Torment to Pathfinder 3.5. The closest I've come up with is a Magus Blackblade archetype, but it doesn't really fit with the fluff.
I see Dak'kon more as a monk than a mage because his power (fluff-wise) comes from inner clarity and concentration rather than academic study of the mechanics of magic.
Mechanically, the Blackblade fits pretty well other than the fact that many of his abilities would be determined by Intelligence rather than Wisdom.
Anyone had any luck creating a Zerth class for 3.5?

Well...honestly, Magus would be the closest thing that Dak'kon would be. Since 2nd Ed. multiclassing is a thing of the past, the Magus is where it's at for him. Certainly, Monk would be a great fit; splash in some Wizard levels now and then, and you'd have Dak'kon. Heck, you can do a Magus/Monk if you really want to.
The reason why I say Wizard and not Sorcerer? Because Wizards are all about the self discipline. Magic just "comes naturally" to Sorcerers, while Wizards must devote self-discipline to study it.
The reason why Monk seems like a natural fit for Dak'kon, is because the Githzerai are all about self-discipline and inner focus, core components of the Monk class. Monk just comes naturally to them, because of their nature.

This link has the information for now. It'll change in the future though.
It does not appear it uses Cha as a casting stat. I think that's an oversight.
