Kingmaker PBP needs players

Gamer Connection

1 to 50 of 65 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

Hi everyone, We are looking for one maybe two players for our Kingmaker game. We are preferably looking for a cleric so they will get first priority. We are 2nd level and still in the first book.

Character creation:

28 point buy
3 traits one of which must be a Kingmaker Campaign Trait
Core + APG + UM + Ultimate Combat Playtest only

We are a very fast paced PBP with multiple posts per day the norm. Definite emphasis on story and character interaction with a healthy dose of action thrown in.

Please submit a basic backstory and concept for consideration.

In Character boards are HERE

*Bumpity*

I'm considering a cleric of Calistria, if you're okay with that. If so, I'll write up her backstory. :)

My application

Cleric of Calistria is great! Put up the concept and backstory.

at least it's not another loli. i got the idea by listening to disturbed for a few hours.

Well, if ya'll don't mind that I've already played the campaign to book six, I could whip up a healy-buffer. I would really love to actually role play this campaign, and have... you know, a say in what's going on rather than just sit around arguing and have the clique vote against me anyway.

I'd really like to try making a cleric who reveres nature in the way that a druid does. The wilds are so... wild out there, if my character grew up there, it wouldn't know any other way to live.

Nope we don't mind that you've played as long as you can keep player and character knowledge separate.

yeaaaah boi!!

28 point buy, huh? next stop! THE MOOOOOOON!!

sorry, i am typically not this silly, if you wanna check out DM Patchers CotCT, i actually do quite well, on the whole. And i'm GMing a solo campaign for my husband. anywho, to whip something up...

Hermia draft:

Hermia – Cleric Revering Nature/2
Alignment CG
Domains: Weather, Liberation (Freedom)

Str 9 Dex 12 Con 14 Int 14 Wis 17 Cha 15

Traits: Improvisational Equipment, Bandit, Courageous (?)

Hermia no longer recalls her childhood home, or what her parents looked like. Since her early adolescence she was raised among a pack of lone wolves among the wilds, earning her keep and her health by maintaining theirs on their many assaults against those persons silly enough to settle in the unclaimed land of the River Kingdoms. The quality of the food was abominable, of course, so few people had much of anything good to themselves, much less lying about for bandits and thieves to make off with, but her special craft managed to keep it from spoiling, and her attention to her elder brothers, cousins, uncles and aunts kept the group marginally healthy.

Perhaps she was afraid of them once, and perhaps they were once her captors, but they grew to be her family. They trusted her with their lives to the most embarrassing, minute details. She treated plenty a case of rot and puss in the nether regions to recognize that she should not be dealing with the likes of them, thanks. They appreciated her somewhat quirky sense of humor and less than delicate hand with the healing arts. They told her their problems and she gave the best advice she knew, typically some second hand knowledge gained in the midst of yet another round of drinking in some long, sad fable about how Titania crushed Dolph’s heart with a flutter of her curled eyelashes by spreading her legs to Reggie, the scum… None of really mattered, Hermia knew. When they all sloughed off in their infrequent drunken hazes, or stalked off into the wilds to piss or pilfer another round, she would slip outside and indulge in her favorite activity, laying back in the grass, peering at the sky and listening to the wind whisper through the trees.

Her little clan was aware of her quick temper, and her volatile mood. They knew never to disturb her in those calm moments, and that in the end, she would come inside, and resume her battered little cot by the window. Some would visit her there and tell her their dreams. They gathered she had the gift of prophecy. Hermia simply calmly explained that the figures in their dreams were representatives of other, more simple things expounded on in their fantasies. Gold, ale, women, boys… It was all very boring, to be honest. But she listened, and she advised. She very dearly loved her home, and those quiet times in the evening.

Very dearly loved, until one day the lone survivor of a irregular patrol led a new pack straight to their base. Within minutes, the much better equipped band slaughtered each and every member of her family, even the women. It was to be expected, of course, they fought as fiercely as the men, and were not quite so comely as Hermia.

The intruders knew nothing of Hermia’s reputation. For as much as she loved her family, they loved her as well. Not a one of them spoke of her gifts. She was assaulted, to be sure. She did not enjoy it, but it was the way of things. The strong take from the weak. They left her there in her broken cot, assuming that she would die. They did not know about her temper. Her sense kept her still, and quiet for the better part of a day, just listening to the breeze blow through the trees, carrying the stench of blood and death. Then the flies came, and after, the animals, and Hermia rose stiffly.

The strong take from the weak, that is how they justified their actions when they stole to live. Hermia saw the error in that, now. She healed herself, pitched blood and filth from her basin and created water to wash. The strong take from the weak, that was nature, they said.

No, Hermia realized. Nature reclaims what is hers. The flies did not care that Wyl was ridden with a disgusting pox, nor the rats nibbling at the stumps of his toes she had had to amputate. She would claim them all, in time. And the cycle would begin anew…

Unless she had some part in it.

Oh, umm... concept, yeah... healer, buffer. Hermia is all about bringing out what is best in the party, according to their design. In terms of her goals, basically to stop the cycle of persons who think they are strong preying upon the weak. It's not as natural as she was "raised" to believe. In the end, all end up returning to the earth. Her goal in the greater schemola of Kingmaker will be a champion of the wilds. Probably go over well with Erastil folk in that aspect, as for the lawful bit, though... likely not so much. Don't remember what the roles are any more, so... I guess I will just see where Hermia fits when the time comes.

thanks for your consideration, sirs.

What's your current party make-up? Personally I've not much interest in clerics, but if you're possibly accepting another spot beyond that, as you indicated you might be above, then I might have some interest.

I would like to propose a barbarian / oracle heading to a rage prophet. I made a mistake and clicked edit on an old profile instead of adding a new one. So I am presenting Fent Shardtooth.

Looking good everyone. I am going to keep the recruitment up until Sunday and then we will make our selection.

Padded the character, and the backstory some. Hope Cloistered Cleric will not be too hard for ya'll to deal with. I did not see a wizard amongst the characters presented in the first few posts, so thought you might need some help with assorted knowledge checks.

As you are still considering, I'd love to submit this ol' fella Bogorin Rockstomper
he is an old Dwarvin Cleric who had given up his faith long ago and drowned himself in drink. Spurred to action once again though by the kidnapping of his favourite barmaid, he is now on the road to recovery of both his faith and a life outside of a bar.

Longer Background:

He's an old dwarvin ex-cleric who several years ago had a severe test of faith that he apparently failed miserably. He has never spoken to anyone of what it was though there have been several rumours, some more colourful than others, drifting through the town for years. Since then he has allowed the Drink to take him and he is now merely a shell of his former self. While not quite known as the town drunk as his former deeds do still grant him a modicum of respect he is nevertheless a permanent fixture at Bertram's tavern. He is known by pretty much all of the town's residents. Although normally particularly grim and taciturn even for a dwarf, when deep in his cups he becomes garrelous and will often ramble on for hours about many of his past deeds. Most of the tavern patrons find his stories entertaining even though they know that the majority of them couldn't possibly be true. In general, he is pitied and seen as a harmless old dwarf.
When he first hears of the raid he was sleeping off a drunk in a corner of the tavern. His first reaction is shock as apparently he slept through the whole thing! But when he finds out the Dale was one of the kidnapped suddenly something he hadn't felt for years is inspired within him. The serving lass had always been kind to him. She was also one of the few who didn't condescend to him when she spoke to him and he looked on her as a sort of daughter. Bogorin had never much cared for that conniving Gnome but he surely deserved better than to end up in an Ogre's stew pot. When the rumors began to spread that his good friend the blacksmith was missing too that simply cemented what he had already decided.
The old Dwarf rushes around gathering what equipment he has left, trying to fit his much bigger belly into his old armor. Maybe This can the chance to finally redeem himself. And whatever the cost, he will see Dale safe and returned home. Plus, with the raid no more supplies have been coming in and Bertram's stocks of ale have been getting dangerously low.

I can easily revamp him to be at the same level as the rest of the players.

Just as a bit of warning, he's a prickly old bugger at times, especially if it's been too long since his last drink, but there's none better or more loyal to have on your side.

As for me, I'm a long time player of the boards, currently involved in 3 other long running games. One for over 2 years and one for over 3! Can and am very happy to post multiple times per day.

Present party makeup

Magus/Monk
Druid
Sorcerer (water)
Fighter
Gunslinger (DM NPC)

Hope I haven't forgotten anyone else.

Yeah, seems like you need some knowledge skills in this group. I know Cloistered is not substitute for a wizard, but not as weak on healing and buffing as a bard, and I am already running two of those.

i fixed Ulgar's Equipment.

Good stuff...

So far I am liking your submission for cleric the best. We will still be taking applications for a few days, as the next particular issue will be a rather complicated battle and I want everyone ready to go by then.

I like long posts, and good group dynamic. It seems like you write a lot, and that's a big plus in my choice of selection. In addition to the pititufl "28 points" via the point buy (sorry it is so low), I also present the players a "signature item" that helps them in the game.

So you know, my games tend to be a little more harsh; in other words, having those points and a signature item will be helpful.

For now...

I think I am pretty locked in the cleric mode; for now. But I may take in one other player. To help in your selection, please consider the concept of the Kingmaker game, which is as you grow in levels you're ultimate goal is not a character, but a position in a kingdom or Empire.

As such, the following is what we {theoretically) have...

1. Sorcerer Supreme... Doctor of the Occult and ancient mysteries
2. Chief of security; captain of the kings (queens?) musketeers...
3. Treasurer and tax administrator
4. Secratary of Agriculture and Healing...
5. Secratary of Education, Philosophy, History, and mental/physical harmony.

We COULD use...

5. A high priest...

6. General of the royal armies (dedicated to fighting pitched battles and warfare, rather then patrolling the cities for intenral issues).

The idea is to build beings best suited to rule a kingdom, not simply to be a character class. Keep that in mind, and I think it will go well. The high priest aside, does anyone seem interested in playing a "general", or (at this level) a front line warrior type?

Ulgar could make a fine general. he may not have the best charisma. but i am sure that people would eventually want to hear stories of the mad general who escaped the Asylum of Caliphas during the red moon. the berserker whom had made the moon bleed. the feral beast who inflicted a great blow to Ustalavian Society. and the savage that evaded the prince's notice for so many years.

expect the principality of Ustalav to be Ulgar's preferred target.

Makin' mah day, if I may say so. You have no idea how badly I've wanted to actually roleplay in Kingmaker. And now that I am GMing myself, I recognize how hard it is to do, but heck... a girl can dream, right?

I believe that Fent would make a fantastic general as he has both the Charisma and the Battle knowledge (being a Barbarian /Oracle). As for my postings I currently DM 2 campaigns, am in one of imimrtl's games (my character is Logarth), and also playing in a game with Imimrtl (my character is Pandin Stoneherd). So he can say as to my strengths as a role player.

Either Fent as a Barbarian /Oracle for the general or I could cook up a character as a Cavalier that would fill that role nicely (I have always wanted to play a cavalier or a samurai) Just let me know. I really have a hankering to play this campaign.

The Exchange

If it pleases the group, my submission.

Questions, comments, and feedback welcome:

Tristanne Ankwar:

Those lumbering tin cans in Lastwall have no idea what they do. I can fight as well as any of them. If they would just pay me properly, then many orcs would be dead.

Tristanne shakes her head at the silliness of the Lastwall defenders.

Those zealots fight for honor and for the safety of others...and they think I am odd because I would ask to be paid reasonably! The God of Scales, the First Merchant, would ask me to ply my abilities to extend civilization and trade, not waste my life on some wall...unless paid.

Tristanne continues to walk her horse through the forests of Echo Wood on her way to Brevoy. 4 weeks ago she had left LastWall, traveling east. A week ago, she left Castle Urion in Numeria wherein she caught word of free land and deeds near Restov for those who would take it.

If that is true, I shall try to start my merchant empire there. Should it not be true, then I shall make for Mendev. War against the demons brews there and war can lead to big profits though at heavy risk.

Finally though the rough terrain of the forest, Tristanne slings her bow on her back and mounts her steed, Usury.

"Come Usury, we make haste...there is land to be earned and trade empires to be made."

Tristanne gallops for a small trading outpost south of Brevoy and north of the River Kingdoms - Oleg's Outpost.

Tristanna:

Tristanne is the beloved child of to merchants, born and raised in Korvosa of Varisian decent. She is young yet, but 23, and sees the world through the eye of one who would have it all.

A disciple of Abadar, she made her first monies poaching the woods near Korvosa. She turned that money into a new bow and yet more income from hunting. Her parents rejoiced at her success, but felt it was still too little for the potential she had in her.

Tristanne (with her parent's urging) then left for Lastwall, both to taste life and war, but also to see what markets she could stir amongst the armies therein. Sadly, Lastwallans did not share her love of gold (their hearts usually belong to another - Iomedae or Kord), and she moved on and is now looking for another place to establish her empire.

Tristanne is talkative and friendly and always trying to find a deal or make a trade. She is driven to apply Abadar's teachings to make herself rich. She lacks the keen intelligence to 'win' every negotiation, but her personality sometimes overcomes that liability.

She is a skilled archer and decent rider. In combat, she will likely be a ranged combatant preferring her bow to her morningstar or dagger, however, won't hesitate to enter melee if needed.

okie doke

For the possible General, or "Front-Line" Fighter...

Okay, nothing's been decided on regarding this position. Here are a few things to remember:

1. We're looking for players that work well in a group. Characters with evil agenda's or other personal issues which cause them to be dark or cruel to others... these and other issues that make it hard for your character to be more friendly to other players in the group... this may not be the kind of person we want right now.

2. We're dealing with a good mix of experience via gaming. For example, one the girls is a "newbie" who has never gamed before, though she is in many writing groups. As such, a little patience with that dynamic works well.

3. No matter how you may want to play out "Charisma" or so forth, playing a fighter that is well liked and generally treated as a good person to WANT to follow into battle is something you may want to consider. Not necessarily now, but later, when your character advances, your ability to recruit men who will live and die by your command is going to be radically altered on little details; like your personality, how you treat others, your background, and so forth. Stats, class skills, and feats will fall a far second to those basic things.

Okay!

Still not completely sure, unsure on the general yet, but I'm very excited about many of the options out there and the choices I've looked over. If you're still interested in doing one, based on the criteria of this post, throw a final character concept for me to look over. We still have time to make a hard choice, as the next big battle is scheduled for sometime next week (roughly Wed. the 6th; 8:00 PM eastern standard time). Between then and now, many players are out of time via vacation, so other then a few pitiful posts each day, the new player won't really get the chance to "jump in" until sometime next week.

This seems very interesting indeed. I definitely would like to toss my hat in the ring for a General/Front-Line guy. I should be able to pin down a decent character concept for you all to look at by tomorrow. Hopefully it will be intriguing enough to be considered.

This would be my first time doing a PBP game, but I do have some experience with the overall Pathfinder game. I am going to need to do more reading to fill in the knowledge gaps dealing with Kingmaker and seeing how my character could potentially fit in with the already created ones.

I'm looking forward to reading what you all have written and possibly playing with you in the future.

Dain GM - If Tristanna would work better for the group as a frontliner, I am happy to tweak her for that. I had thought to replace the GMPC gunslinger, but would happily pick up a board and sword (or go as a switch-hitter).

Her story and personality would remain the same.

Thanks for your consideration.

I'm no doubt interested in the front line fighter/general. I'll see what i can come up with.

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you, but yes I am fine with posting a few times a day, but they will be a little more spread out some in the morning and some in the evening after my kids go to bed.

As for my samurai concept I have always wanted to play one (as I have had a fascination with the far east for a long time,) I will cook one up tonight and post it asap.

I present to you Gan the Samurai

That CHA score may hurt Gan Mondragone. A 10 is usually common, so you are playing a large man with no people skills. We already have a large dwarf with no people skills.

Alright I will update the ability scores, he is a little rough around the edges with people, but mostly due to the fact that he was dishonored as a samurai and brought shame to his family. As he gains back what he feels is honor for his family name he will definantly become more personable. You are right looking toward prestige classes and being a Battle Herald he needed a higher charisma score. Thanks for the catch!

P.S. In case it is unclear by his backstory and the fact he has no leige to speak of his order is a Ronin.

I spent my kids nap time reading up on prestige classes and I missed the first time looking at it that I need inspire courage (the bard ability) so I will rework Gan's character sheet to make him a lvl 1 Samurai / Lvl 1 Bard to fulfill that requirement. I will post it after I cook dinner. Thanks for your consideration.

Keeping my fingers crossed hoping for a spot....immirtil put in a good word for me ;)...

I have an idea for a fighter with a high charisma, Free Hand Fighter arch type who uses a flail. He'd probably have the bastard trait, and his motivation would be to eventually restore his name and all of that.

If you're interested i could stat it up for the General, but if you'd prefer Gan, i don't mind!

Gan Mondragone wrote:

It is an interesting concept, indeed. However, it does have some points I'd like to go over...

1. Why did your character not commit seppuku when you failed your master?

2. I think they have a version for masterless samurai, or ronnin, not unlike a Paladin that loses his Lawful alignment... did you have a chance to look that over, and if so, is it something that you are interested in playing.

I should add that I know a lot about Asian culture, samurai culture specifically, and would enjoy seeing this played out; but only if it goes the full nine. Cross-classing as a bard could make sense to me, if you played a samisen for example, or used haiku or some-such for your performance.

I played a samurai once a long time ago in a 3.5 game, using the old Oriental Adventure rules, so I'm interested to see how this rolls.

The only issue I have (at all...) is that you are multi-classing as a Samurai/Bard... other then Noh plays, and other such performances, I just don't see the bard class fitting to well. Though you may have a way of working I don't see, yet. If so, I am excited to see how that plays.

Again, and I can't stress this enough, the average ammount of posts per player is typically 7 per day, as based on a the three week thing. I also tend to post longer posts then others... somewhat. If you're still down with this we can do something to work you in. I've looked over your writing, it is well done, so I'm cool there. If you're still interested, I think we can make it work.

I am interested, but the only reason I took the level of bard was to get the necessary requirement for Battle Herald, as a Battle Herald most fits your concept of a field general. Yes I thought I had mentioned that he was now a Ronin, so he would be very interested in that as well as once things get established being able to change to serve this kingdom, once the honor has been restored to his family name. However if you feel that a full samurai would still fit the front lines general I would actually prefer to play a straight samurai, as everyone knows samurai were hard core...As far as the posts go as long as you are alright with some being in the morning and then more being at night after my restaurant is closed (I am a chef in real life).

He did not commit seppuku because he felt that the only way to restore the lost honor was through proving himself and proving to his clan that he is indeed as great a samurai as his father was. Also he was spared somewhat in the judgement of the clan due to the valor of his father.

In taking a better look at the Kingmaker adventure path I see now that my submission was not very well chosen. So, while i would still love to be in a game of this quality (and posting frequency! I can never get enough PbP posts in per day to satisfy me ; ) since I don't have anything ready at the moment and since it looks like you already have what you need, I shall withdraw my application and instead wish you all a great game.

Cheers

I humbly offer up to you Sir Bronwyn Maximov, human cavalier:

Backstory:

Born a stablehand's son, Bronwyn grew up among the priceless horses of his lord, King Rogarvia. He had learned tales about fighters, swordlords and fencers, knights and dragons, and dreamt about them while scrubbing horses and cleaning horseshit. He would probably be still cleaning stables if it weren't for the ambush.

The King and his retinue were hunting in the Gronzi forest when a small band of evil fairies (quicklings and redcaps). During the short fight the king's stallion was severely wounded, and nearly ran away from the battle. The stableman's words kept the horse in the battle, and his expertise was the only thing capable of healing the horde properly after the battle (any other horseman would probably have to sacrifice the horse).

The King offered the lowly stableman anything he wanted; he only replied "I have a clean cozy home, a strong son and a woman who still loves me despite it all. What else could a man want if not that his son has an even better life than mine?". The king laughed at the man's simple mind and offered him a bag of gold "To pay for your son's service. He will be my squire from now on, to serve me and obey me, and perhaps be rewarded if he deserves".

And so his life took a strange turn. He had new clothes, a small room the size of his house next to the king's. During the day he served the king, tasted his meals for poisons, checked his gear and tended to his horses. At the nights he wasn't watching for the king's security, he trained with the household knights. He would wake sore and bruised, but he always kept himself going on, knowing his father had high hopes for him.

In the beginning it was heaven. Training with the fabled knights and swordmen he had only heard about and attending the king's court (albeit only as a watcher and messenger) was beyond his highest dreams, and it looked like nothing could ever stand in his way. It wasn't a single thing that shattered that dream.

There were lots of signs, signs he didn't notice or plainly ignored because he was so fascinated by his new life. Strange letters in the middle of the night. Weird requests, infrequent comings-and-goings. Bronwyn never questioned his king's orders; after all, he was just a simple-minded stableman's son, not fit to understand the workings of a king's mind. But then they got worse.

First there was the guardsman. He failed to open the gates quickly enough for the king late in the night. Bron understood, after all any minute the king's out in the open is a minute of peril for the entire kingdom. The guardsman was whipped in front of his colleagues, twenty times. Then there was the fletcher. The king's arrows weren't properly feathered, and so he missed a shot during a hunt. The man ended up with ten broken fingers. The late night visits, the questionable companies; Bron was always close to the king, but he knew that if he needed to know something, he would be told.

But then there was the cook. He overcooked a wild goose the king had hunted, and got burned with the cauldron of hot soup. Thankfully the king hadn't ordered Bron to do it; to this day he doesn't know if he could have carried that order.

And there was the cleaning lady. Ilya was her name and she had hair the color of fresh wheat, though you wouldn't know for she always kept it tightly under cover. Bron fancied her and they traded quite a few smiles and at least one surprised kiss by the well. One night she left the king's room, sobbing. The next morning he could see the marks; red and purple they were, here deep and there shallow, like scratches. He couldn't make her tell him what had happened, and his simple mind avoided making the obvious conclusion.

A couple months later, her belly starts to show. Nobody knows who the father is, and Ilya isn't telling. But the word spreads, and one cold autumn night he was called to the king's room. "Here they are. Your spurs. You can choose any horse in the stable's aside from mine. You will be assigned a suit of full plate armor, sword and lance. From this day forward you are no longer my squire, but a full-fledged knight under my command." For a single perfect moment everything was forgotten, everything was forgiven. "Do you so swear to serve and obey me and my blood, to protect us, uphold my honor and lead men in my name?"

"I do, sir."

"Then rise, Sir Bronwyn Maximov!"

But then came the order. His first task as a knight was to "dispatch" of a "problem concerning the crown". Apparently, the king doesn't want to sully his line and honor by fathering a bastard. Sir Bronwyn left that room sweating although out there the first snowflake was dancing through the winds.

The next morning he had been brought to the king's chambers. Words were said, curses were shout, but in the end the king just asked: "Why did you do this, knowing full well the responsability for your actions?"

"I swore to protect your blood, sir, and I had reasons to feel your blood was in peril last night."

"You also swore to OBEY!"

"And that I did, my liege. I dispatched of the problem; neither the girl nor the baby in her belly will trouble you anymore."

"YOU LET THEM GO!"

"Only under an oath to leave this land and never come back, and never to rise arms against the crown."

"You gave them gold!"

"I would be unfit to my station as a knight to send a lone girl out in the snows without any assistance."

"YOU SWORE AN OATH!"

"That I did. To protect your honor, sir, against any and all threats, including yourself."

That was the final blow. He was stripped bare and his back was reduced to a bloody ruin. He promised himself he wouldn't scream, but that promise he couldn't keep.

---

A light in the darkness. He tried to talk, but found he had forgotten the words, or they were merely slipping from his parched mouth. How long had it been in the dungeons? He couldn't tell time.

"What have we here?"

A couple days later, he found out the world had completely changed while he was in the dungeons. His king and all his line, vanished in a single night. Months of uncertainty and searching for the heir. A different blood, a different king was now seated on the Dragonscale Throne. And he was curious about the starving knight in his dungeon.

He was offered a choice: repent and recognize the new king or get back to his cell. There were hard choices in his life, and this wasn't one. He was nursed back to health while this new king held courts, summoning all lords to come and swear by his name. Finally, he was offered another, harder, choice: Swear fealty and service to King Noleski Surtova, or leave his land. He had spent a couple of weeks observing this Surtova, and found in him many of the traces and hints of his previous king. And so when he voiced his choice, he knew he had little time to make his escape, for this other king wouldn't suffer opposition to live. So he ran, and rode away from his realm, looking for a purpose and, maybe, redemption.

Bron is a tall, slender man with wheat-blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Although he strikes an imposing figure mounted on his warhorse clad in armor, his humble origins often rise out in open laughter and enjoyment of the simple things in life. He has lived a lot for his years, and tries to measure up anyone he meets, looking for subtle signs of violence or excess pride. To anyone not displaying those he extends his friendship, often loudly. To those that extend theirs back, he gives it all.

I for one am excited to see a "Good" battle herald. I mentioned this in chat last night, that it would be the perfect compliment to the idea of a charismatic general who could lead a nation's soldiers to victory.

So, we will have a General Patton in the guise of Toshiro Mifune. I am okay with this.

Yeah I am definitely going to need a good general when I am ruling the new nation ;-)

Any thoughts about my guy? :)

I like your back story quite a bit, actually. Very little angst, just a guy looking to do the right thing, even if it is an unpopular opinion.

Looking into your traits and feats, though, if you were to take Heirloom Weapon (and discuss with the GM, of course) you could get the exotic weapon proficiency essentially for free. It is my opinion, although, again, not necessarily that of the GM's, that Cavs are already so limited in what they can do that it is scarcely a huge bother to pick up a freebie like that. But, if that is how you want to make your character, more power to you.

As you've probably read, I am brand new to the campaign, so I am kinda curious about who is going to get in on it so we can be newbie pals, maybe. Although my character seems to be fitting right in with most, so far. Going to have to recognize that for a while there will be that disconnect between us, however, as they've all known each other and been traveling a while and have gotten more comfortable and shared battle experiences and such that she has not. Nothing quite so attractive as another blank slate to bond with.
