Would distance to the extradimenional space cause the eidolon to be banished if either the eidolon or the summoner were subject to a maze spell?
Yes. You're essentially transported to a demiplane created on-the-spot by the spell. On another plane you're effectively an infinite distance away.
If you can't teleport to its side, you're too far away. :)
