By chance I was in a local Target store last night and saw where they had a bunch of the now out of production Star Wars miniatures from WotC on sale, specifically the Imperial Entanglements set. The boxes, each with seven miniatures, were specifically marked as 70% off items for $3.99 each. I picked up six boxes and I like the mix of 42 miniatures I got.
Does anyone know if Target got a lot of these on the cheap, have any other sets for sale anywhere at a discount, etc.? I have a lot of the miniatures and I don't plan to pick up too many boosters, but I don't mind picking up a few sets when they're priced like this. Three of the minis I got were going for $10, $10 and $16 on mini market as individual items. I like getting 42 minis for less than the price of three rares.

My local target has carried SW minis for a long time and always at a discount. However, I haven't checked in a while, so I don't know if they have them for 70% off. Sounds like it might be time to check.

WotC sold all of their Star Wars minis stock to Target last August just before their license to sell Star Wars products ended. Target has had them on shelves ever since.
Generally, the prices have been $6.99 or $7.99 depending on the set (5 or 6 different sets have been spotted in Target). All sets were recently dropped to $3.99. I'm guessing they are trying to clean out their remaining stock. As a note, for about 2 weeks around Christmas, boosters for the Clone Wars set were on sale for $2.50.
Imperial Entanglements is the set most likely to be found (guess WotC REALLY overprinted this set). Jedi Academy is also commonly found. Other sets are possible to find, but unlikely.

Legendarius: Thanks for the heads-up!! I've been after a large lot of SWM for a while, and haven't found the "deal" I've wanted until today.
I'm taking a few days off from work, and decided that this was a good of an excuse as any to go for a drive.
Hit up the "local" Target, then drove north for a bit.
Hit a total of 5 stores, scored:
15 Imperial Entanglements (almost bought a case of these online a few days ago, glad I waited!)
4 Jedi Academy
3 Clone Wars
3 Force Unleashed
1 Galaxy at War
Other than being a bit overcast, the weather was great! Had a great drive, great lunch at a place I haven't been in a few years, and a great deal on minis! Couldn't ask for much more!
Thanks again!

I bought up a bunch of these at discount as well...but I guess they sold out before the price went much lower. I think the various sets I bought were from 50% to 80% off. I purchased maybe 10 sets over several months. Got a few I didn't already have and many, many multiples of things I did.

Nice, I saw the ones on sale around xmas, but 7.99 was too much when I would have given 1/2 away

Awesome, just went to the local 2 Targets and bought
12 Imperial Entanglements
6 Jedi Academy
3 Forced Unleashed
1 Galaxy At War
1 The Clone Wars
All for $3.99 each!
Thanks for the info

Note: New England still has prices at 8.99 for Galaxy at war
Got 5 packs in imperial entanglements, 1 pack of force unleashed, 1 pack of jedi acadamy all @ 3.99 each. Also picked up 2 legacy of the force @ 6.99
Rares and VR:
Logray Ewok Shaman x2
C3PO Ewok Deity
Moff Jerjerrod
Kyp Durron
Jariah Syn
Lumiya, The Dark Lady
The Dark Woman
Proxy
Huge:
Knobby White Spider
Notes:
'Ewoks' make decent pugwambis and it seems like I'm keeping about 2 figures per pack to mix with my D&D minis. 'Disciple of Ragnos' makes a decent Qadrian. It was nice to get some in-expensive plastic crack latly

I got an Emperor and some other pricey rares but I'm not sure how to go about selling them. I also have quite a few DDM rares. I have zero Ebay skill.
Any thoughts?
That I should have seen this thread last month? ;-)
More seriously...
E-bay's pretty easy to use (even I sold something on it.) Based on the displays I've seen, I recommend the following.
1) Pick a low price to start.
2) Keep the minis in the bags if possible. Take a photo with the mini in front of the card. Try to use a high quality camera.
3) Start off by listing the more common minis you want to sell. You might not get much for them, but you'll build your 'rep' with positive feedback, which can help get a bigger price for the rarer minis.

I'm not likely to start selling stuff on Ebay.
If there were a local secondary market I would try to use that, but I think most local secondary markets have gone the way of the Do Do.
How hard is it to sell minis to Paizo or Troll and Toad?
