Witch Spell Hex feat

Does the spell hex feat automatically give the witch the hex without using one of her hex slots or does the witch need to use one of her hex slots in addition to taking the feat?

Hexes can be cast all day erry day, but if you meant does it replace a hex she would learn normally, I believe the answer is no. This is a feat that gives you a free hex, but one that is specifically a spell.

Its essentially trading a feat for an additional Hex Slot, Much as you can learn a new feat in place of other options for things like the Rogue Traits etc. its turning one into the other. This goes all of the "Additonal" traits that give a Class Ability bonus in place of a feat.
