Jesail pauses for a moment looking at the two little creatures and decides not to attack. "IF you say they are friendly then I will leave them alone, as long as they stay friendly" He turns to Oren.

"I am Jesail Ash. Grand inquisitor of the lady Shelyn. I fight to preserve beauty and love across the land. I believe that Sarenrae and Shelyn's goals are not to far apart so if you don't mind, I'd consider you a brother in that regard. Now what is our first task? Hunting Pugwampi?" Jesail turns to look at Almah.

Note on appearance. Jesail is tall, about 6' 6". HE wears a fine emboidered velvet cloak and rugged traveling clothes underneath. His most unique feature is his hair and skin. His skin is very pale and his hair is almost white with a hue of green to it. He wears his hood, Like in is avatar pic, His exposed hair seems to be flowing as if there was a good breeze blowing it, but you are inside the tent.

Mathpro is out of town. :-(. He wont be posting for a while so I guess wee gotta wait.

Well, that explains why he disappeared from the game I'm running.

Isz nudges Ripnok after the death threat subsides and says "Dybia e jyst alwedig ni Gremlins."

"I think he just called us Gremlins."

"Awron awron, a agwedd ydy fel Choblynnod git'n'n ddrwg chymeriad. Atfydd dydy chyflawnder i mewn eiddo gwrteithia."

From Goblin:
"Now now, that attitude is how Goblins got our bad reputation. Perhaps it is a complement in his culture."

He flashes Jesail a big, toothy smile.

"Hello, gremlin."

I hate it when they do that... Are they exchanging cooking tips on how to roast a humanoid..?

Almah looks around at the members of the party and shakes her head a little at the antics of the Goblins. Well if you all agree that a Pugwampi is responsible for the death of our dear friend then it would seem reasonable that a search party for such a creature be formed. She then turns to face Jesail and smiles You seem experienced with them, why don't you pick who you want to go with you to hunt these beasts

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail looks at the rest of the party. If I was level two I'd be good at this tracking thing. oh well "Who among you has the good sense in tracking to assist me in this endeavor?" He looks to the at the humanoids then turns his gaze with a curious expression at the two goblins who just called him a gremlin. "Well? You little fellows capable of acutally tracking a REAL gremlin or is insulting me your only skill?

Welcome Back buddy. You enjoy your trip?

Yep though it was WAY to much time spent with my parents...I almost left my mom at a truck stop...who knew a 60 year old woman with a titaniam knee could run that fast...

Suddenly a familiar pungent odor fills the air as Dashki approaches the tent and pops his head in. If you are interested in tracking these pugwampi's then I am your man for the job.

Almah looks at him suspiciously What have I told you about sticking your head in here uninvited...and dear lord when was the last time you had a bath. No your not going anywhere until I am sure you had nothing to do with the fire. These few people might believe your made up stories about mini goblins but I do not. Garavel take him into custidy. Garavel steps forward and put a hand on the mans shoulder. [b]Sorry about this but there was tention between you two...I'm sure if these people can bring back concreet proof of your innocence(IE the body of a pugwampi) then Almah will let you go. The two men leave out of the tent and soon most of the smell fades, though some still lingers in the air.

"I'm your man Jesail. It will be an honor to assist you." Cahal bows deeply.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Angradd / 2

Oren thoughtfully watches the pungent man disappear into the darkness. "What a strange person. You have reasons to suspect him, Lady Almah?"

Almah turned to the cleric and smiled Yes. He's a pervert who likes to spy on me. The guards have had to remove him from my tent on more than one occasion and then there were the problems him and Eloais seemed to have. To tell you the truth I suspect Dashki thought there was something going on between me and that creepy bag of bones and Dashki's very misplaced feelings might have caused him to do something he would regret. She paused for a moment and then cleared her throat The rumors going around camp that me and Eloais had something going didn't help. He was to be my fortune teller and thats all.

She looks to the rest of the group. [b]So it looks like Cahal and Jasail are heading out on what I hope isn't a wild goose chase and a poor attempt by Dashki to save his own hide. I know we need a gnoll expert with us but if I knew he was going to be such a problem I wouldn't have ever hired him. Will anyone else be joining them?[b]

[b]Oh I'll go! I want to see these pugnaftuts that are supposed to be gremlins but aren't. Ripnok runs off to get his kit and comes back clinking and clanking from his many bottles and beakers. You have seen him do this before and it is strange because the bottles only seem to clink when he wants them to. He can be extremely quiet when needs be.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Angradd / 2

"I am no tracker but I think I should come along as well," Oren says. He touches the scimitar at his waist and reaches up to straighten his holy symbol on its leather cord.

"If these creatures truly exist, I would like to learn more of them. I've always believed the best way to learn a new thing is to experience it first hand." He turned his gaze back to Lady Almah and a smile lit his face.

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail looks to Ize and Marossa. "Will the two of you be joining also?"Jesail waits for their response.

Male Goblin Rogue 1

Isz looks up from the scorpion he was chewing on.

"oh yes, I'm in. Let's do this!"

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Sorry Marossa, I'm going to move this thing along.

Jesail will look at the haggard slave girl. "You can tag along if you want but time is of the essence and tracks don't keep forever. Come my friends, let us do some hunting" Jesail will make his way to the spot where the burned wagon was and look around for any tracks.

Tracking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Male Dwarf Cleric of Angradd / 2

Oren sketches a short bow to Lady Almah and follows Jesail out of the tent, keeping far enough back so that he doesn't get in the man's way.

Just a reminder: You guys are the most active at night and sleep during the day so its still dark out now

Almah smiles at Oren as he bows and you could almost swear that her cheeks flushed a little. As Jesail looks around the camp one of the torches illuminates two very faint footprints that head to the north from camp. Its still dark out but you can see the faintest hint of the sun creeping over the horizon so you would guess its about for or five in the morning. If you want to continue out of camp you will need some sort of light source to continue to follow the tracks. From another part of camp you hear a rather loud howl type scream COLD!!!! and when you look you see Garavel standing over Dashki, a large barrel tipped over the prisoners head. Dashki has also been stripped naked and is now dripping wet. He seems hairier than normal if anyone takes the time to drink in the details.

Role play with each other while you look if you want, if no one responds by the morning I'll move things along

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail ignores Dashiki's torment and pulls out a lamp and lights it. He then turns to the group and hand the lamp to Oran. "I've found the tracks. Keep close and be wary. Pugwampi are tricky little devil's". With that, Jesail will lead the way.

Woo hoo! Here we go! Ripnok smiles a ghastly smile, row upon row of sharp teeth glinting in the torchlight.

With that he starts singing in Goblin

Goblin:
On the road again! Just can't wait to get on the road again! He only know those words to the song and sings those over and over again.

Being unexpectedly out in the middle of nowhere with no service bites.

Marossa stays silent through the discussion in the tent, her mind hazily wandering through the day that had started with so much excitement. Now it seemed she was expected to go on some wild chase through the desert for a pug... pug... what was it's name?

Since she hadn't learned much from the halfling earlier she didn't mention her findings at all and simply walked out of the room with the others. She could really use a bit of pesh at the moment.. lethargy settling in her limps as she keeps to the new source of light.

Hearing one of the Goblins singing something about a road... and continuing to sing about the road... and continuing, she decides to add her own voice just to change the constant repetition and she begins humming at first and then opening into a simple poem she had learned.

How many a desert plain, wind-swept,
like the surface of a shield,
empty, impenetrable,
have I cut through on foot,
joining the near end to the far,
then looking out from a summit,
crouching sometimes,
then standing,
while mountain goats, flint-yellow,
graze around me,
meandering like maidens
draped in flowing shawls.

Mostly she speaks to herself, a calmness settling over her features as she uses the poem to distract herself from her need for pesh.

Cahal follows Jesail closely. That guy knows his stuff! Following in silence, he makes sure to be of help and point out clues when possible.

Aid another Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Isz quietly follows the group until Kobold finishes clearing something up with the DM.

Just trying to just some posting in. Our GM is being lazy. I need to go kick his butt to get this thing moving. But for now some roleplay

As the journy continues Jesail turns to the group. "Seeing as how we have some time, I am curious as to what brings you on this journey?" Jesail looks to the two Goblins. "I am especially curious about you two.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while its been a busy weekend...I spent 17 hours gaming this weekend. It was fun but I'm REALLY behind in school work so I won't be able to move this forward until I get some of this stuff done.

Ripnok looks at Jesail and smiles, I'm a slave. I am on this journey trying to earn my freedom. That and to be able to travel and meet all these people is a bonus! I am also hoping to find more ingredients and items for use in my craft. Would you like to see?!? He gets an almost manic look on his face and pulls out some vials and starts mixing things together, the vial bubbling like mad and violently...

Cahal bows deeply, but his words are slicing: "I too wish for twice-lost freedom. But Jesail, a man must start by answering his own question. What brings you tot his journey?"

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail looks to be uncomfortable at the questions. "Well, I um, I lost something and there was a rumor I might find it on this trip. Seeing as how it was the only option open to me, I took it. I'm a little late to the recruitment so I'm doing what I can to make myself useful."

Cahal raises an eye, obviously not appreciating his colleague holding up on him: "Did you loose your freedom? Something else?"

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail sighed. "Very well friend I will tell you the story. I'm not out here on any religious crusade. I lost the only person who ever cared for me. One night I had got home and I noticed she was gone leaving a note that made my heart stop. So I search for her. It is a long shot but I heard she had been seen somewhere in this area. So here I am. This is my chance, to possibly find her. That's my story. Now no more secrets between us right?"

Storm swept through our area and Mathpro's neighborhood lost power. He wont be able to post until they get the power up and running. Stupid storm!

Male Dwarf Cleric of Angradd / 2

Saddened by Jesail's plight, Oren walks up to the man. "I will pray to Sarenrae that you're able to find this person that means so much to you. May the Dawnflower's light guide you."

Cahal puts a hand to his heart: "I thank you for your honesty. May your step guide you to her."

powers still out at home but I'm posting from my parents house...hopefully will have it back on tonight

As everyone travels and a few of you talk you make it out away from camp, the light of the lamp the only source of light. A slight breeze makes it almost tolerable out here but with the sun starting to slowly show its head over the horizon you get the feeling its going to be another long hot day. You travel for another hour and the foot prints seem to stop. I need perception checks from everyone.

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Perception Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Male Goblin Alchemist 1

Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Marossa stays silent for a time after her short song, her eyes not really paying attention to the area ahead or where she is going though she continues to hum out her little tune.

Perception Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

Cahal, Jesail, and Ripnok:
You guys notice a small creature dart behind a cactus. You also suddenly notice a second set of tracks here that Jesail didn't notice back in camp. They seem to be made by some sort of hooved creature and as you scan the horizon a little you notice a goat standing off in the distance a little from you, grazing on a very small patch of weeds. What do you do?

DM Mathpro wrote:

Ripnok yells out in Goblin in his excitement Kortha tesh bsza!

Goblin translation:
It went that way!

He then runs towards a cactus to chase after the creature.

Ripnok as you approach do you signal for your party members to approach? Also you hear some rather strange sounds coming from the creature...almost as he if he's laughing. Go ahead and make me a reflex save as you approach the cactus.

Anyone else doing anything as you see Ripnok running after a cactus, you don't see anything around it so it seems rather odd that he would yell out and then run up to it. Though maybe he's just exceptionally thursty. You've heard rumors of people in the desert drinking from cacti before.

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail Pulls out his crossbow and turns to the others. "I saw something behind the cactus, spread out and be cautious.' He notices Ripnok racing for the cactus. Jesail moves quickly after the little creature. "Hey you! Be careful, Gremlins are dangerous, you rush in ahead and you could get hurt." Jesail pauses and thinks for a moment. "Why do I care?" He shakes his head. "Bah the goblin hasn't done anything to deserve this." Jesail quickly moves in to help Ripnok corner whatever is behind the cactus and, surprisingly, to make sure Ripnok doesn't come to harm.

Reflex save if needed:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

As Jesail rushes after the goblin Jesail falls into a small pit. He falls about 3 feet as the ground beneath him gives way, landing in something he really hopes is mud but the smell confirms its something entirely different. The noise behind the cactus seems to get louder.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Angradd / 2

Oren is puzzled at first as the goblin shouts in his strange tongue and rushes forward but nods grimly as Jesail shouts out his warning. Moving with slow deliberation, Oren draws his crossbow and ensures that it's properly loaded. Then he begins to circle around to the side, keeping his crossbow ready for whatever trouble might be awaiting them.

"Save your moisture! The sun is soon upon us..."

Cahal looks at the fools dancing in the warming sands, unsure on what they have in mind. He stays alert and gets his throwing axe ready.

Broken out of her reverie by the shouting that starts up suddenly, Marossa's head snaps up alertly as she carefully draws a dagger from a hidden fold in the sash around her skirt. While she didn't have much skill with weapons beyond pointing the sharp end at the enemy, she wasn't going to be caught completely defenseless out here in the open desert.

Seeing their new companion Jesail fall into a pit of some foul smelling substance Marossa quickly runs forward to make sure he isn't hurt.

"Are you alright, Sir?

Marossa offers her hand in a helpful manner to get Jesail out of the small pit.

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail takes Marossa's hand and climbs out of the hole. Thank you. I'm okay. Just bruised my pride. Cursed pugwampi set a trap. Jesail's hood comes off and his greenish white hair begins to move all over as if it was caught in a strong wind. He nods to Marossa. okay. We'll get this creature. Jesail moves around to attempt to catch the little creature.

Cahal draws his axe as Jesail gets helped out of the trap, sensing that things are going to get messy soon. Once Jesail gets helped out of the trap the creature comes out from behind a cactus. As if the world’s most revolting lapdog had somehow learned to walk on its back legs, this sickly creature slinks forward carefully, a dagger clenched in his right hand. The creature stands a little over a foot tall, and he cans the area and seeing the party starting to try to surround him he charges Ripnok(the nearest target) and tries to stab him in the leg but swings wide. Cahal walks up and takes a swing at the creature and cleaves it in half down the middle length wise(very hard to do with an axe but when you do almost double its total hit points in damage...). He lets out a somewhat disappointed sigh and wipes his blade down before storing it again. Well that was anti-climatic he says to the group.

You guys are free to do what you wish here, but you have what you came for. Someone will need to carry the body back to camp when you return. The sun is starting to come up now and you are tired from your days travles and then all the action in camp so heading back and going to sleep doesn't sound like a half bad idea but again your free to do what you wish.

Marossa I'll need another save from you for the new day

DM's attack on Ripnok:

To hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d2 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2

Cahal's attack and damage:

To Hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage:1d12 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Male Sylph Inquisitor Level 1

Jesail snorts. No less than the little beast deserves. Let's take what's left of it back to camp. Jesail turns to look at Marossa. He puts his hood back over his wild hair. He then observes Marossa curiously. "Are you okay miss?"

Heal check on Marossa. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 to attempt to detect her addiction

You are able to detect that she is suffering from some sort of addiction. I'll leave it up to her if she wants to divulge more than that or keep it a secret
