I'm going with a rise in cult activity in the south, and the need for dark-ones brought over from the other side needing to feed on the humans. Yay, that's the ticket.

Not dark ones - Invisible Mutant Super-intelligent Leech Men from the planet GLYFRBXIX. They used special temporal wave technology to travel the thousands of light years between their homeworld and earth. This temporal energy saturates their cells. When they feed they pass it on to humans and causing a mass rapid aging effect of the internal organs, thus bringing about sudden decrease in life expectancy.

I think that our food is killing us.

When income gaps widen, life expectancy drops. As the middle and lower income classes get squeezed in terms of real income and rising expenses, they cut back on basics, including medical care, and better quality food.

Increased stress also impacts overall health and gives rise to stress-related illnesses including suicide.

Don't listen to them, OP!!!! I have it on good authority that they are spies for the IMSiLM's!!!!

That's not far from the truth. The prices of fruits and vegtables have been allowed to skyrocket while the production of crops that go into junk and heavily processed foods are heavily subsidized.

Lots of factors-

Many people eat a diet heavy in grains and heavily processed food, which is less nutritious and causes health problems.

Genetically modified food compounds that problem...an example is corn that has a pesticide gene spliced into it. The belief was that an insect eating the corn would die from the pesticide, but that peoples stomach acid would break it down. That turned out not to be the case, the pesticide is now showing up in human blood samples.

Medical/sickness care(not health care) in USA was already dropping in quality and Obamacare will continue this phenomenon.

So many chemicals found in food and water, even cleaning supplies can build up toxicity in a person over a lifetime. Heck even mattresses are sprayed with so much fire retardant chemicals they can and do cause health problems.

Many people are not getting enough sleep particularly good quality sleep.

Many people do not get proper exercise, and even some exercise is found to cause health problems. As an example, lifetime marathon runners are found to cause themselves heart damage after 20 years of long distance running.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

People don't masturbate enough, either.

Myself excluded.

How exactly, now?

Government bureaucracies and politicians have no clue what works and what doesn't. So they listen to whoever lobbies the most money. That would be the massive pharmaceutical industry that has no interest in keeping people healthy, just in profiting from their latest drug while making sure laws are passed to ban competition from anything that actually works.

The process began when the government began licensing doctors...it only licensed allopathic doctors. Now allopathy is great for certain things, like trauma. If you get stabbed or run over or beaten...the US medical system is very, very good.

But if you have diabetes or heart disease or cancer...it sucks.

I can go into detail on this, but some examples here, here and here.

Another example...for heart disease, there is a $500,000 solution for a major artery blockage, and a $30,000 solution. The $500,000 solution will result in some brain damage, has a high 5 year mortality rate, and carries some risk of dying on the operating table.

The $30,000 solution has none of these risks. It does take longer to implement than one day on the operating table but you don't have to worry about recovery time.

Obamacare will only pay(if it pays at all) for the $500,000 solution, not the $30,000 solution. The $30,0000 solution doesn't have the lobbying money to get notice.

Until the government gets out of medical care and people take responsibility for their own health(not medical) care, costs are going to rise, medical(not health) care will decline in quality, and life expectancy will continue to decline.

And that's why Medicare is a widely-resented failure, and there are no osteopathic physicians registered in the US. Oh, wait...

You weren't doing too bad right up until this.

The problem is that the government isn't in medical care at all. Corporations are. We don't have a "medicare price" crises, we have a "health and medicine price" crises. We have that crises because we're letting pharma create a monopoly with medicine and we won't let the government negotiate prices. We literally stripped power away from the government for and only for the sake of increasing pharma profits.

I'm not even sure why this is shocking. We went to groups that literally exist for and only for the accumulation of capital and asked them to be in charge of our health. That we're now dying in the street while they make record breaking profits isn't in any way out of the ordinary. It's what was inevitable.

I cannot stress this enough: The system is working. The system is working entirely as it's supposed to. You are dying, they are making more money. That was what the system was set up for.

People kept ranting about how the government needs to act like a business. Well, this is the end result. Maybe instead, we should ask the government to act like a government and put people before profits.

+1 with caveats that I'll keep to myself.

I haven't always agreed with you, but you've hit the nail on the head here.

I agree completely. And urge everyone to become a member of *they*. They are cool and make a lot of money.

Also, I urge everyone to be a CEO. It's nice work if you can get it.

You could be right:

Adenoids: Excessive growths of lymphoid tissue at the back of the nose which interfere with respiration, and also cause general ill health, should be suspected in children who habitually breath through the mouth, who snore, who are deaf, or who suffer from recurrent attacks of nasal and bronchial catarrh.
The best informed opinion of today holds that most cases of Adenoids are related to rickets and are due above all other causes to vitamin dificiencies in the diet. Adenoids have to be removed by an operation, which cannot generally be performed under five years.

Source: Eaton Encyclopedia 1932

Basically Asthma, Snoring, and general ill health are due to reduced vitimin intake in food. That will be a death sentance for all you folks who dont grow your own vegetables.
