Ah right, well I had more in mind going to Paizo or Green Ronin or something, just to see if they liked the idea, but thanks for the advice.

I'm not entirely sure if I should just drop the idea or what, as I'd still need permission from the creator of Gantz which I have no idea how to even go about.

I've got no idea who I should even get in contact with for this kind of thing, as companies like Paizo only publish things for people who are well established and have published things before. It gets into that whole argument of you need experience to get anywhere, but you need someone to give you a chance to get that experience.

Also, I noticed some members on here have made fan made content for Paizo products (such as paper cut outs of monsters) and sold them through the Paizo store.

I didn't know they could do that, so that was interesting.

Ah... I misunderstood a bit then—I thought you were talking about self-publishing mostly.

I can answer this, though—Paizo isn't looking to publish new RPGs at this point. We're not even looking to publish new campaign settings beyond Golarion at this point. We've got a pretty solid vision for where we want to go with Pathfinder, and that vision more or less uses up all of our resources, leaving us with pretty much no capacity to publish other things beyond Pathfinder/Golarion in the RPG arena, and certainly leaving us with no real time to look over unsolicited manuscripts.

For publishing an entirely new RPG, you unfortunately don't have a lot of options other than self-publishing these days. Most RPG companies are pretty hesitant to take risks publishing a new RPG if it's not one they already support, not one they made, not one that's already established, or not one tied to a well-known intellectual property.

The self-publication route is really not all that bad an option, honestly, especially if your'e just publishing PDFs. But again... I'm no expert in that area, and don't have a lot to offer there in terms of advice.

Ah, I loved Fallout 3. I just don't know if I could bare to save every 5 minutes, seeing as the Fallout 3 took 89 hours of my life away. :p

Ppft. Lightweight! ;)

I currently have 280 hours played in Fallout New Vegas (and at least one more playthrough when the last dlc comes out), and probably something similar for Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

I'm expecting to sink a similar ammount of time into Skyrim later this year.
(Yes, I have no life... In the real world).

My sorcerer is hooked up with Ameiko when he is in Sandpoint (as well as a few other women since he likes to breed a lot). He's barbaric and travels a great deal. Easy to have him out of the picture for Jade Regent. Interesting tie in though. I might have him show up down the line since we try to keep all our campaigns in the same world with all the characters from the various campaigns existing at the same time.

Liberty's Edge

I actually like having an NPC to take the throne. One issue my group faced when playing through Kingmaker was making someone the ruler. Yes, I know we could switch jobs around according to the rules, but we wanted more RP backing for our situation so we avoided that. Finally we settled on the most inoffensive and nonthreatening member of our group to be the rules, and interestingly enough he was playing a Cavalier. It fit pretty well.

Then the problem became that he was not really a decision maker, or someone who liked being the focus of high pressure situations. We could have picked someone more forceful, but likely would have faced the opposite problem. It seems to be that most groups are unlikely to have someone play a ruler who is the perfect middle ground between those two options. Which is why the NPC ruler is a great idea.

She's female as well, which is just a wise choice, at least for my group. I know a lot of guys in my group would feel more competitive with a male NPC ruler, but more protective of a female one. Sexist? Absolutely, but something that is still true.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to running this AP.

Thanks for the advice! :)

Creating a PDF shouldn't be too much of an issue, but the fact Gantz is owned by someone else, and I'm essentially making the game due to my love of the series, my problem would be trying to acquire the rights with little to no money.

I thought if you host it online to sell somewhere as a PDF, then you could maybe go about giving the original owner of the IP something like 30% (as an example), but not speaking Japanese and not knowing how to go about it is where the problem stems.

Montana77 - Ha, I'd be too bored by that point. As it was I wanted to stop, as I was literally on it for about 8 hours a day at one point and it felt like I was immersed more in the world of Fallout than I was in the real world. :p

Whoa, whoa WHOA!

You want to make a GANTZ RPG? That's AWESOME!!

E-mail me! My address is in my profile.

Haha, yea I'm 42 pages in with about 60 something feats so far, and I have a unique suit system in place. :p

I also designed the character sheets and left a little space to draw your simple styled Gantz icons (the cartoon character design of yourself that the Gantz machine features). ;)
