I am looking for one player for my ongoing Serpents skull PbP
If anyone is interested have a look and see if you would fit in with the parties play style..I'll accept any decent character concept but Martial characters will get first look in

Oh, I'd love to... but I think I'm probably in too many now... I've lurked that thread in the past...
No, can't do it. Just can't do it justice. I wish I had the time, though, I really do!

I would like to vie for a spot here.
He is a survivor of a ship wreck but not on the Shiv. Some time ago his ship ran aground on a deserted stretch of mainland. He does not remember much before waking up strapped to a table. Tubes ran in and out of him and there were fresh scars he did not remember.
There was a strange wizened man nearby turning a crank that opened the ceiling over the table to the storm outside. "Yes, I think one more treatment." Colorful, glowing liquids flowed through into him. The pain was...nothing compared to the pain when lightning crashed down through the open roof. In the light he saw the old man chanting, calling the lightning. That is when he got angry, very angry. He screamed in pain and rage. The straps, half burnt by the lightning did not hold.
He does not remember what happened next. Does not want to remember. He woke to a gentle rain a half burned mansion smoldering behind him. He felt full.
Over the next few days/weeks he found and buried the burnt and strangely twisted remains of his crew-mates. His own wounds healed quickly but the strange scars remain.
Given the choice of trying to walk through an unknown jungle or heading to sea in the small sailboat the madman maintained. Our hero chose to risk the sea. He could find a ship, or at least hop along the coast to civilization.
Pity about the storm.
Human beast totem barbarian or shape-shifting ranger Native trait. Definitely a close in fighter. The madman if left open if you want to use it for something. I see him as a Dr. Moreau figure. Our hero was given several animal traits through surgery and alchemy.

Eeehhhh unless you outright reject poor wandering one ima step out since he's already got his stuff hammered out.
Please it's just a loose concept. I was reading about the new UM alchemists and had a vague idea of playing a barbarian, the ideas sort of blended while walking back from the coffee shop.
You would be perfect for this TarkXT. What are you considering playing?
GM. I can attest that TarkXT here is one of the better pbp role players on the boards. I am in another game with him and he is driving my poor paladin to distraction. He would be a great fit for the game.

Well the party already has
Ranger
Druid
Wizard
2 Bards
they have lost Fighter, Inquisitor,Oracle
So the Animal totem Barbarian might work...but I want to give as many people as possible a chance to submit concepts and as you know PbP's don't move that fast so I'll give it till Friday for concepts and then pick the one I think will work best for the story and the other members of the party.

Argh! Flattery! My only weakness!
Mainly the house appeases his eccentricities because he's loud, hates devils and everythign they represent, and isn't afraid to tell people exactly how it is. Unfortunately he's quite popular in certain circles so it's better to indulge his dangerous hobbies (the man once went to participate in a war that the house refused to simply because he thought they should) and hope an owlbear or giant animal mauls him to death rather than subject him to hellknight punishment (actually he may be a potential hellknight that's a scary thought) or poison.
Would have the Boarded at Cheliax and another tria. Maybe Bully. :P
Looks like I'm going to go fighter with that party makeup.
On that note Poor Wandering One is rather good at the characters he does make so you have a winner either way.

I love it! A big game hunter and a half animal. Winner either way. Note the presence of the druid makes the barbarian choice more likerl for me. We do not need more animal companions cluttering up combat map. Mind you I think Shapeshifter and spirit rangers are compatable so that might be a no-companion option.

Some fine tuning on my concept.
The character was human when he reached the madman's island. He is now treated as half orc and will be built as such. The formerly human part is pure fluff.
Also if I go the ranger route do you allow 'aspect of the beast' to be taken multiple times selecting a different aspect each time?
Poor Wandering One
So with Rich PArents and Boarded in Cheliax I end up with soemthing like
1275 gp. With average wealth from level 1. Think that'l ge tme nice and set for a trip into the jungle to wrestle tigers and froghemoths.
Shall we call you Mr. Howell or can we call you Thurston?
Makes my 105gp seem rather scant.
I had a strange idea if the kindly and glorious and suave and euderite and well-spoken and oh so electable GM will allow us both in. Having 2 folks wash up on th shore at the same time seems unlikely but if your noble hunter rescued me on the open sea and then we both crash into the Shiv......
And GM (kindly et al.) do you prefer full writeup's for canidates? I don't ususlly bother till I'm selected but if it will help.....

Caithan. Shall we go with the "You picked up this half dead man from a shattered raft in the open ocean" idea or do you have somethng better/opposed?
"Yeth Masther'
actually a good idea. Setebo's psyche shattered and he is still picking up the peices. He has very little ego though that will develop over time. You like any good cheliaxian noble are profiting from this weakness for some free labor.

I wasn't being serious but I guess I'll have to give you some money now to get yourself some decent clothes. Can't have you be walking in rags and animal skins now can we man?
Qualin Lyir
I really shouldn't sign up for another PbP, but I've been dying to play Serpent's Skull...so if you're still accepting applications, I present Qualin Lyir. Should have him done by tonight or tomarrow. Going for something between Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York, and Black Beard in Pirates of the Caribean.
Depending on how optimized things are with the group he'll either level up as a magus from now on (if we're needing to be more optimized) or bounce back and forth between ranger and magus.
He uses three archtypes, which as far as I can tell is legal, as each archtype doesn't modify something another does, but if that's not kosher I can adjust as needed.
Going to try working on his background next, though basically he's the son of a Taldan woman who dallied with a shackles pirate. His athame and black blade are going to be inheritance from his pirate father who died recently (or did he...dun Dun DUN), in the form of a ghostly main gauche (the athame) and a sentient falcata that tracks him down to finish the goal his father died trying to complete.

Well I was thinking. You are a noble out for a jaunt. You rescue this man because well noblese oblige and all. Then what do you do with him? He? It? is obviously lower class so you get him back to health and put him to work. I don't figure that I've been working for you long considering my illness when the plot intervenes.
Setebo
Qualin..I'm afraid that the two additions take the party to 7 which really the most I'm prepared to run with..sorry mate..
Caithan and Setebo..Hit points for 2nd level and above are PFS standard..1/2 your HD value +1 +CON bonus.
So for me 6+1+con bonus each level past first?
Oh and I will likely be pestering you to allow imp. natural attack, imp. natural armor, and maybe multiattack at high levels. I can live without them but they fit the feral man very well. and I will have the attacks make use of multiattack eventually.
Thank you again for letting 2 folks in. I will do my best to be as low maintainence as possable.

Correct.
The OOC thread.. which is somewhat threadbare as we do seem to have adopted a habit of going OOC in the main thread
