I was sure I wasn't going to have a full table. However, none of my players showed up for the Gifted game. It was also somewhat of a blow to my pride that players who didn't sign up for games asked the other tables if they could join in, while I sat alone waiting for a half hour. I am not angry, but I do wish people would have tried to let me know they would be skipping out so I could have slept in. Oh well, these things happen. There is always next year. No real harm done.

If people want a game later today (Sunday) let me know. I have all this material and I want to do something with it. I can even run a late night game, as I can afford to sleep in tomorrow.

Did anyone else have a game where none of the players showed up?

Sometimes people get distracted and forget about off book events? Was it in paizocon schedule?

I migt be interested in a 7 to 8 pm game if you get others?
I'll heck here later.

I'm going to get a PFS module going at 2 pm today if you are interested?

Yep. It was one of the scheduled games.

I am really sorry man! Saving throw vs bed failed! I really tried to get up in time to make the game (along with Battleraven) we turned off the alarm and just passed out again. I'm really sad to hear no one else made it either. It really was nothing personal we were looking forward to playing in the game. We did drop by at 11 to apologize and found that the game wasn't going on. Sincere apologies from us both.

That does suck, Caleb, I'm sorry. There's a definite propensity for people to get a bit... over-served... at/after the banquet and be a bit sparse on Sunday morning. It can be a tough time for getting the game to gel.

I actually regret posting about no one showing up. I was pretty hurt at the time, but I was mostly really tired. Lack of sleep and a hurt pride are a bad combination for forum posting.

It was my first game convention and I really ran myself hard the entire time. By Sunday morning, I was trashed big time. I am not even sure if I was able enough to run the game properly, and I know I would be working under effects similar to the feeblemind spell (2nd ed version.) I am pretty sure the game would be enjoyable, but not nearly as much as if I was fully rested and had a good meal in me.

After I packed up, I went to a couple panels, learned some great stuff, took a big nap, and had some great conversations with several people at Paizo. It was a pretty enjoyable day overall.

I learned from the experience to request a non Sunday slot next time, possibly a non morning slot as well. That way not only will the player be more likely to show up, but I will be awake enough to run a game right. Also, I plan on being better at posting material for the players before the week of the Con. That way, players can either become more excited to play, or they can let me know if it ends up sounding like a game they would rather skip.

Sorry to hear that no one showed for your game Caleb – I know how it feels to put a lot of effort into prepping a game that gets cancelled or not played for some reason. Glad that you are now feeling philosophical about it all.

Sorry to hear that, Caleb. I played in a Sunday morning game at the same time slot, "The Dalsine Affair," which was great fun, but in 20/20 hindsight, I would have rather slept in--and I did have to excuse myself from the game for a bit to pack up and check out.

I'm wondering if an "at con" registration system like they do at DunDraCon, or some kind of wait-list system, would help keep games full, since that way people who find they have late night games (or drinking plans) wouldn't sign up for games the next morning.

Sunday morning slots are really hard to keep going (I've run one all three years). I know only half the players came to my PFS game (1 of 2 tables), though the other got filled with "hopefuls".
