Does Fencer Trait including Exotic Weapons?

Rules Questions

I was looking at the trait Fencer and it says +1 with Daggers, swords and other bladed weapons. Does that include exotic weapons and does it remove the need for the Exotic Weapon Preq?

That trait doesn't give you proficiency with a given weapon, it just adds a +1 to your attack rolls. There's a difference.

And I would personally interpret the "and other bladed weapons" part as any sword-like weapon - a handle with a long blade extending from it (so shortswords, longswords, rapiers, scimitars, etc). But I can't guarantee if there's an official ruling on that point.

Are we talking about the Fencer trait in the Advanced Players Guide ?

If so, that +1 trait bonus only applies to AoOs.

You gain a +1 trait bonus on attacks of opportunity made with daggers, swords, and similar bladed weapons.

It says nothing about granting proficiency, so no, it does not grant proficiency.

What counts as "similar" bladed weapons would be between you and your GM. Anything that's more or less described as a sword (bastard sword) or dagger (swordbreaker dagger) would probably count by what is written there.

If tengu are prof with it.. it counts.

It doesn't remove the need, but it would apply to weapons you weren't proficient with.

Liberty's Edge

What about a glaive-guisarme? It has a blade on the end of a stick (similar to the naginata) and it's a slashing weapon.

I dont know what the official word is, but my ready/interpretation would be any weapon in the expanded weapon groups from ultimate combat for light blades and heavy blades. And no it doesn't give you profficiency just a +1 to attacks of opportunity, though ofcourse the +1 counts whether you are profficient with the weapon or not.

I think that Kolkotroni is right with using the light blades and heavy blades weapon groups.
