With some groups we need to keep track of important items across characters.
Epicwords is more of a campaign manager with a journal, wikis and what not, but it's loot system basically does what you ask for.
You will of course need an active internet connection if you use it while playing.
Testing this out now. Something like that looks like it would be great to compliment Pay-By-Post games.
