I was browsing a friend's copy of UM (I don't have the book myself) and looking through the variant channeling rules I noticed that a lot of them gave bonuses to saves or skills or whatnot. But I couldn't seem to find how long those bonuses (or penalties) lasted. Channeling normally creates and instantaneous heal/harm effect and I couldn't find mention of duration anywhere. What have I missed?

If you read the specific channel type it states it in the text how long it lasts.
For example Fate:
Heal - Creatures gain a bonus on their next readied action d20 roll as long as they take it before your next turn.
Harm - Creatures gain a channel penalty on ability and skill checks for the next one minute.
So one round or one minute for fate depending on what type of channel you have.

Thread necro ... the Freedom variant doesn't specify a duration for the heal effect:
Freedom: Heal—Creatures gain a channel bonus on Escape Artist checks, CMB checks to escape a grapple, and saving throws against becoming entangled, paralyzed, or slowed. Harm—Creatures are slowed (as slow) until the end of your next turn.
Any idea how long the heal effect is intended to last?
