Alternate fate for Zellara

Curse of the Crimson Throne

In the AAW, Zellara and wossname, the tiefling, give up their grip on the mortal plane in order to turn Zellara's Harrow deck into a _Harrow Deck of Many Things_. That's a cool idea, but I don't know if it will work IMC. Part of it is that my campaign is a CotCT mashup that may never reach the final module, but another part is that the PCs have decided that they really want to help/rescue Zellara, and I'd like to give them the chance.

The straightforward way would be a Resurrection, but with an APL 5 party that's not in the cards any time soon. Another thought that's occurred to me would be to present them with an "empty vessel" -- a living body with no soul -- that Zellara could move into. Not sure how to arrange that, though.

Other ideas?

Have them do some HUGE quest for the Church of Abadar. Maybe they have a list of people who owe them debts, and the PCs could become ersatz debt collectors while the actual useful clerics deal with the disease and what-have-you. Turns out one of the debtors is some scary otherworldly whatever.

I guess you must be doing a HEAVILY slowed down version of the campaign...
My party was APL of about 15 by the time they got the harrow deck of many things...

I would say Ressurection would be the way to go. Just because they are too low to cast/afford it doesn't mean it couldn't be worked ito the campaign somehow... maybe they provide assistance to someone powerful, and in exchange he offers them the chance to bring someone back from the dead?

"Empty vessel", like one of the soul-less clones of Ileosa? Or a clone of Zellara made from the same pool?

Of course, that process takes a while, time during which the growing Zellara needs to be protected...
