I am new to the construct rules and all, but this looks VERY appealing to me, but I am having trouble figuring out this effect, specifically the last paragraph. Since attacks to you use the construct's hit points, not yours, why does the last paragraph says the armor acts as a breastplate?
Second question; how would one go by making their armor into a construct, and what exactly does one get by doing this?
Third question; what would it take for a fighter to be able to make and use such a creation? I am guessing extensive use magical device checks, as well as items that can cast the proper spells frequently enough, as well as the make whole spell a few times per day.
Thanks

To make a construct requires the feat Craft Construct (found in the Bestiary). It has a few prerequisites: Caster Level 5, Craft Wondrous Item, and Craft Arms and Armor.
By RAW, a fighter cannot make without a Golem Manual. Note: there is a significant drawback in constructs in that the damage they take cannot be reasonably repaired during combat due to the casting time on the spell Make Whole (10minutes).
How to get a fighter one: have wizard make one, have wizard issue order for golem to follow fighter's commands. Fighter must then pray wizard never resumes control. OR buy and use Golem Manual (which raises the effective cost of the golem accordingly).
To be honest, I cannot understand why they nerfed Mending and Make Whole (changing the casting time from standard action to 10minutes). It really prevents you from saving a construct that is about to be irrevocably destroyed.
