Haunting of Harrowstone - Advice on what to play

Advice

Hey there everyone. I got invited to play through Haunting of Harrowstone with 3 other people on pretty short notice, I was invited monday but had exams all week, so not much time to consider this. We play tonight, so any advice before then would be appreciated. =)

As far as I know we have a Samurai, a Wizard, and a Druid. That's really as much info as I have, I'm not sure what they're all specializing in, which makes it hard to choose a class. I'm playing a Bard now in PFS and did a Wizard last campaign, so those two are most likely out, but anything else is fair game.

Witch or maybe a inquisitor would be my suggestion.

I was considering inquisitor, but I'm not really sure how to build a good one, haven't seen any guides around. Looking at the party makeup, I should probably bring someone that is a skill monkey or a divine caster. Either one or a mix, such as the inquisitor, though I'm open to other suggestions as well.

Well a witch can cast healing and most cure spells and can get curing hexes. They are not as good of healers as clerics but then who is. They are better than druids are at if they focus on it.

As for the inquisitor you could check out this book by Open Design.

I don't know.

In the Carrion Crown, a party will live or die by Channel Energy.

I cleric would be invaluable to that party.

Dhampyre magus with a penchant for armored coats, rapiers, and anagram names.

oooooor

Inquisitor with a spiked chain and penchant for hand axes, throwing daggers, holy water, other alchemical items, oh and headbands.

Is the Channel Energy really that important?

We have a Flame Oracle, Sorcerer and Bard and Paladin in the party!

do you think for carrion crown Channel Energy is really that important??

A cleric is never a bad idea....ever. I'm DM'ing Carrion Crown (once we finish our current one) and I'd have to say if you want an all around character take a paladin or to a lesser extent inquisitor. I say paladin mainly because it has a little bit of everything. you can share the front line battles with the samurai and the healing duties with the druid.

The inquisitor is a bit like a combination of a bard and a paladin, so by checking out the guides for those two classes you can form a pretty good opinion of how to build an inquisitor. The main thing to remember is that Bane is the ability you should focus on from a combat perspective, which means that you want as many attacks as possible as soon as possible. The quickest way to accomplish this is through archery, with Rapid Shot and later Manyshot.
