Ok I thought of a strange possibility.
Can a monk stick his fingers into a Scabbard of Vigor and get his unarmed strike an enhancement bonus on attack and damage?
A monk's unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons.
Once per day, as part of the action of drawing forth the weapon held by the scabbard, the wearer can order it to endow the weapon with an enhancement bonus on attack and damage rolls. The duration of the effect depends on the desired enhancement bonus for the weapon.
A scabbard can be made for a great sword the blade of a greatsword is pretty thick and wide at the base. If made from softer leather one can easily insert their fingers if not their whole hand into the top of the scabbard.
Can a monk slide his hand or just a few fingers into the scabbard, then draw out the weapon (his hand) and get his hand enchanted since his unarmed strike counts as a manufactured weapon for spells and effects.
He can use crane style kung-fu which attacks with the points of the fingers.
If so could it apply to any creature's natural attack or only the monk since his unarmed strike is considered a manufactured weapon?

Since it's effectively a slightly modified 1/day "Cast greater magic weapon" item, I'd allow it, although I'd reflavor it. Instead of being a scabbard, I'd turn it into hand wrappings or prayer beads, or something along those lines. It stays a slotless magic item that requires a move action to activate (or that can be activated as part of a move if you have a BAB of +1 or higher), but it avoids the ridiculousness of sheathing your fingers.
It wouldn't work on natural weapons, because they can't be the target of greater magic weapon.
Edit: Actually, I see it's a belt slot item, not slotless. That makes it pretty worthless once you can afford a stat belt... I'd say that it stays a belt slot item when reflavored, though - it's just a little harder to conceptualize.

Boo!
RAW, there's nothing stopping it. In a home game I'd probably rule that it would only work if you KEPT the weapon in the scabbard so if you want to walk around with your hand in your scabbard all day, go for it. -2 penalty to dex, 1/2 speed, -2 to charisma.
Given your recent posts I expect to see several rooms of nothing but Monks in the grinder. At least it's not a million zillion ninjas.

Neah this is for a character I play in our home campaign.
Though we do have a couple new room ideas with monks, and one for gobin ninja flying in these strange wood and paper boxes with two flat planks sticking out the side. Oh and the gobins have on head bands that are white with a red circle on their forehead. <chuckles>

Off topic: What is this grinder I keep seeing mentioned? It sounds like something I'd enjoy.
I am glad you asked.
The Cheese Grinder is a DND tournament I have run at DragonCon (and some other cons) for the past 8 years. This will be our 9th year! (Last year and this year we are using Pathfinder in the past we have been in 3.0, 3.5 and 4th edition)
Players create their cheesiest PC they can think of. Given insane stats, more gold then they should have, pretty much open book whatever they want. 6 PCs are sent into a dungeon of death full of nasty monster combos, traps, puzzels, etc.
When a PC dies that player gets up from the table and the next player waiting in the queue takes that persons place. Play does not stop for 48 hours!
Then a few hours later we hold a finals where 6+ players battle it out to become the King of Cheese.
We provide trophies and other prizes for the finalist.
Visit our website at http://www.thecheesegrinder.com on there you can also get a link to our facebook page.
We are going to be a DragonCon this year and right now talking to a smaller con Play On Con and will possibly there as well.
If you have questions feel free to post them on our forums!
