Complete rules for Flickmace and SwitchSycthe

In the Players Companion Gnomes book the Flickmace did not have its descriptive text (which is necessary for an odd weapon), while the SwitchScythe did not have any game stats for it.

Also the description for the SwitchSycthe also contained some inexact wording (around the hidden properties of the weapon) that didn't make sense.

Spoiler:
This scythe has a spring-loaded blade that folds down into the weapon’s handle. Opening the scythe blade is a swift action, and closing it again is a standard action. To the uninitiated, this weapon can pass for an oddly shaped staff (Bluff check DC 15). Sneaky gnomes sometimes disguise the apparatus with paper maché or a thin layer of clay painted to look like wood, increasing the Bluff DC to 20 (this disguise is ruined when the weapon is opened, but it may be reapplied).

Does that mean it counts as a DC 15 bluff check? Requiring a DC Sense motive or perception to notice?

I know there was discussion about this in the posting for the book but there was nothing conclusive (or nothing at all). Has anyone seen this elsewhere?

where are these weapons mentioned? They sound perfect for my campaign setting.

Liberty's Edge

This is explained HERE.

It looks like things were cut for space, but the wrong thing was removed from one of the sections and the wrong thing was left in the other. I think the Switch Scythe was meant to be axed and the Flickmace was meant to be left in.

The Flickmace looks like it should be normal mace stats, with a swift action to active it, giving it reach. I would say it needs to be a full round action to lower it back down. I don't know of anything official.

I don't think that link goes where you intended on it going.

fixed it!

They are in the Gnomes players companion book.

I saw all that info before. But none of it is even remotely official. Especially if you want to use one or both in a Society game, where you can't really approximate, guess, or houserule.

I figured since these were official errors that there would hopefully be official updates to correct the errors.

Yes, there were a couple things in this book that I wanted to use for society play that were unclear. Those gnome weapons in general are listed in a table listing of Exotic Weapons and the table name is Gnome Weapons. This leads one to wonder if a gnome can use them as martial. They do not have "gnome" in the name, but are listed as "gnome weapons"

I think you should add Shar question in your first post, as it is a good question.

I think it's a great question too, one I want to know the answer to.

However I can't edit my initial post. I just hope whoever reads this for the FAQ (if someone reads it) they read down a little.
