1: what does (Ex) and (Su) mean in the class description?
Aura (Ex):
Channel Energy (Su):
2. under the spontaneous casting class feature:
The cleric can
“lose” any prepared spell that is not an orison or domain
spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or
lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).
Does this mean the cleric has to choose which spell she loses right then in order to cast the "cure" spell or can she cast the "cure" spell and then later choose her last spell that has been prayed for and prepared from that morning?

1. (Ex) = Extraordinary, (Su) = Supernatural; certain things in the game reference ability descriptors. For example, (Su) and (Sp) abilities cease to function in the area of an antimagic field, but (Ex) abilities function normally.
2. A cleric can mark off any spell prepared for the day and instead cast a "cure wounds" spell of the appropriate level. He makes the choice of which spell slot to expend upon casting the "cure" spell.

Where do the rules talk about (Ex) = Extraordinary, (Su) = Supernatural? What is significant about these?Whether or not they function in areas of antimagic is the most important thing off of the top of my head, but things will pop up on a case by case basis. Essentially they notate whether an ability relies on magical or mundane properties to function.

So I am clear on question 1, but still a bit fuzzy on question 2.
I'm a level 1 cleric of Shelyn. For 1st level spell I have Bless, Protection from Evil, and Shield of Faith prepared. My fighter friend is wounded, but nobody else is, so instead of channeling I choose to cast a Cure Light Wounds. We're fighting animals, so I don't think Protection from Evil is going to be much help today. I mark off Protection from Evil as though I cast it, but instead I cast Cure Light Wounds. Does that help?
