Lv 5 Bard Spell Suggestions?

Advice

Greetings.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for a lv 5 kobold bard's (savage skald) spell selection. He is part of a 2 PC party with a goblin breaker barbarian. They are primarily treasure hunters so I'm trying to focus on utility.

His Cha score awards him an extra lv 1 and lv 2 spell. So far, the only solid choice I have made was invisibility.

Advice?

Bump.

So no advice in the advice section? Can't say I saw that coming...

0: Dancing lights, Flare, Detect magic, Ghost sound, Message, Read magic

1: Cure light wounds, Expeditious retreat, Grease, Silent image

2: Cure moderate wounds, Invisibility, Summon monster 2

Now that I made suggestions, maybe someone will come along and show me that I'm all wrong! :P

Great bard spells:

0- dancing lights, daze (at low levels), detect magic, lullaby (at low levels), mage hand, read magic
1st- animate rope (especially since bards gain proficiency with whips automatically), cure light wounds, grease, hideous laughter, identify, sleep (at low levels)
2nd- glitterdust, heroism, hold person, silence (especially against enemy spellcasters), summon swarm

Thanks for the suggestions.

I hadn't considered Animate Rope but he does carry a garrote and lengths of cable (Savage Species).

Expedious retreat, Cure Light Wounds and Grease seemed useable.

Good ideas, thanks.

I wouldn't take CLW, buying a wand is just more efficient. Perhaps charm person (if it fits your campaign) or vanish.

Consider glitterdust and mirror image for level 2 spells.
