So my group and I just completed the third module of the adventure path, and some of us were wondering, how the hell are four people supposed to beat this guy?
I mean, there were 6 of us and we had a lot of trouble as it was, with three of us paralyzed over the course of the battle, and our cleric/wizard/mystic theurge scrambling to do as much as he could to make sure the rest of us didn't die.
Any other horror stories of fighting Vord?

Well, I think it depends on party makeup, preparation, and other factors. You must have defeated him, so it's possible...:) And there are certain items in the mod which would help a great deal (I can think of at least two or three).

My players just started VV this weekend. I'm looking forward to being able to post our own horror stories in the next few months... Hehehe...;)

My players got to face him in our last session. They put him down handily without losing any party members. He focused his attention on those most able to hurt him and managed to blind the sorcerer who had hit him with multiple scorching rays. He followed that up with spells like phantasmal killer and bestow curse against the summoner and dragon disciple respectively but they both made the saves. In that round he was brought down by a true strike/trip from the sorcerer's cohort and the resulting attacks of opportunity did dramatic damage in part due to the spellstoring quarterstaff holding searing light. The cleric followed that up with another searing light to vanquish him.
It was an epic battle but the action economy of the party far outstrips what he's able to bring to bear against a reasonably well prepared group.

Got our asses handed to us, are into the next book, and the Big V still lives (and plots).
