Fast Advancement vs. Medium Advancement for PBP Game (Pathfinder Module)

Advice

So I am going to be running Crypt of the Everflame as a PBP game starting around Wed. What I am trying to puzzle out is whether or not to go with Fast Advancement or Medium Advancement. The module is design for players with level 1 to 3... if I go Fast they will be level 4 if they do EVERY encounter, and level 3 at the end if I go Medium.

Which would be more appropriate do you guys think?

How many characters in the party?

If 3 Id say use fast, If 5 Id say use medium. 4... well depends on builds and optimization, If they are 4th level, you might wand to go with AP style of "awarding levels after the completion of a leg" (ie characters should be X level by now) OR you could use medium and award story xp here and there IF needed to get them to lvl 4.

Modules and APs for the Pathfinder RPG are written for the Medium advancement track. This is because that allows GMs to adjust up or down if they wish.

Modules and APs written for 3.5 can be assumed to be written for the Fast advancement track, since that most closely approximates the 3.5 levelling chart.

Since Crypt of the Everflame is written for the PFRPG, Medium advancement would be the norm.

I got 5 people. If I had 4 and did medium, it would end up with everyone hitting 4th level towards the end. To do that with 5 I have to do Fast...

Since you have additional players, you might think about upping the challenge of some of the encounters as well. Otherwise they may find most of the encounters to be cakewalks. The added challenge (either by added creatures to the encounters or added levels or templates to those that are already there) should be sufficient to make up the XP-difference too.
