Vital Strike reads as follows:
When you use the attack action, you can make one attack at your highest base attack bonus that deals additional damage. Roll the weapon’s damage dice for the attack twice and add the results together before adding bonuses from Strength, weapon abilities (such as flaming), precision-based damage, and other damage bonuses. These extra weapon damage dice are not multiplied on a critical hit, but are added to the total.
Here are my questions:
If I take a full attack action, to get my full attacks per round (As a fighter lets say) I assume this means I cannot use Vital Strike on the first attack, correct?
If I use Great Cleave / Cleave, I assume again that I cannot use Vital Strike, correct?
Just want to make sure I understand these things (planning on making a fighter)

There's something like a million threads out there on vital strike already :p Though it can be a pain trying to find a specific answer out of them.
Vital Strike uses an attack action, which is not a full attack action. You are correct that you cannot use vital strike during a full round attack.
Cleave is a standard action, and great cleave is a standard action as well.
Since they are both specifically standard actions, and not attack actions, you cannot use vital strike with them.

Vital strike can be useful when you move and attack, and you either cannot reach two targets, or know that your opponent(s) have an armor class high enough to make missing that additional cleave hit a real risk.
It's also best used with a weapon that has the highest base damage dice you can get.
--- edit ----
well, without sacrificing hit anyways.

Vital Strike works nice with Improved Feint. Use move action to get enemy flat-footed and then hit it with Vital Strike.
Means one have to put ranks in bluff but with trait that makes bluff class skill it's nice tactic.
Thanks Blue, hadn't thought of that (have a PFS fighter with Improved Feint).
