Roll away. Speed is key.

Also fine here. Roll away.

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

Let 'er roll.

"Just go for it!"

But yeah, fine by me.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

That's enough 'yea' votes for me, since no one voiced an opposing opinion.

Male Mountain man Woodsman/6

I will be leaving town Tuesday morning and will not return until Sunday evening - a nice, long family trip for Thanksgiving. I will check in as best I can during that time, but connection may be spotty at best. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Blue team treasure division- I was thinking that I would take the antitoxin and the light crossbow (my max range is about 10 feet with throwing axes). We each get 9 gp and I think 3 sp. The clay sphere and potion/liquid I'll leave to the spell casting/smart guys to examine. Is anyone else going to check out that letter?

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Since I've still got William in NPC mode, I'll have him look over the sphere. His Perception is fairly good, so I suppose he can taste test the vial and hope that it's not poison.

Male Dwarf Cleric of Baal 4

Since the next day is coming up, I was wondering which cleric spells lists are available to us. It's open pickings for clerics, so I just wanted to make sure.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Open game for clerics. The only limitation in effect regards the summon monster spells, and other conjuration spells that bring in outsiders. Summons from the lower planes will not work.

When Stilgar is able to use summon monster IV, he'll have the option to summon a Baalhound. They appear as golden wolfhounds, but otherwise use the stats for a hell hound.

Happy Turkey Day. Gobble, gobble.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Happy Soy-based Turkey Substitute Day! Or, I guess, Turkey day for everyone else.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Oh, that's right, yer one ah them Venusians, or some such...

half elf, Water child alt race trait Legalistic cursed Oracle of Waves 2

Happy belated fresh winter greens and well seasoned roast veggies day every one.

Side note. A pumpkin/squash pie made for and by a houseful of vegetarians is one step this side of nirvana.

just saying.

As an omnivore, I heartily approve...so long as I get turkey with it.

Heck, just give me all of it. I'll eat it.

I do like me some sweet potatoes.

Trying to stay organized on the Blue Team item finding front:

Moxug had: a light crossbow and 20 bolts (Auric)
a morningstar- pass?
2 daggers- pass?
a rather bloody suit of studded leather armor -pass?
a vial of antitoxin (Auric)
a small clay sphere (smoke bomb- Gendo or Will?)
a vial of yellowish-white liquid (?)
a pouch containing 36gp and 12 sp (9 gp, 3 sp each)
a folded piece of paper with a wax seal (group treasure, info)

The chest had: an hourglass- ?
2 pots of alchemist's grease- ?
a vial of alchemical solvent- ?
2 weeks of rations- ?
a mapmaker's kit- Jon? Will?
a sack containing 100gp (25 gp each- foreign mint)

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Shadowborn:

Spoiler:
What's Baal's stance on "enhanced interrogation" for paladins? I'm trying to think if what Gendo is suggesting for Ronk should be considered torture (boo) or intimidation. My thinking for Auric is that he would consider it okay to scare him into talking, but only as a last resort since he may just say whatever we want to hear to get us to stop.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Auric:
Torture is definitely not a paladin's way. However, what Gendo is describing would actually be a Bluff check, as he's not actually intending to pitch the goblin over the side if he fails to talk.

*obligatory bump*

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Heh. Yeah, I suppose I could have bumped this one too.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Hey, blue team's made it to 1000 posts! Red's only five away. Huzzah!

I can hardly believe the game's been going on for so long, it feels like it just started yesterday. And we're still on Chapter 1! Feels like an adventure.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

It's been a lot of fun for me so far. I've got the feeling Red Team's got some interesting stuff ahead. Bumpy ride, but in the end: glory! Just be glad you're not in the Blue Team's shoes...

...I suppose I should do a couple of recaps here, so you guys know what's going on with the other group without wading through a whole thread.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Yeah, sucks to be Blue Team. What a bunch of jerks!

Oh, wait...

I'll probably end up reading through Blue Team's thread sometime soon, I've already done so for Red once or twice over the past few months, lol.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Have we lost Gaius?

Male Orc Expert 5

He's been posting kind of slow. But I imagine it's because of the holidays.

I'm lucky to have been posting as often as I have, but yeah it's both the holidays and he might have opted not to go on the main quest due to being afk. In any case, he better come back. we're taking a feat together next level. :)

EDIT: I know Otm-Shank IRL, He's doing fine. Just working lots as I understand it.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Yeah, Otm-Shank's been gone for a while too. Hope he's doing okay.

Glad someone brought this up, I was beginning to worry.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

I'm already running William as an NPC, I suppose I'll put Gaius in NPC mode so Stilgar isn't just talking to himself during the entire time the rest of the group is gone.

I know the holidays are busy. I'm busy myself pretending very hard that the holidays don't exist. Bah, humbug.

Male(s) 27 Ducks in a James suit Duck 27/ Expert 5

Happy annual gift day!

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

A very, happy, merry St. New Christkwanzramhannukahdanmas Day's Eve to you all. (There, I think I covered everything.)

Happy holidays!

It's Winter!

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

I'd hibernate through it if I were capable of doing so.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Well, PoorWanderingOne (Gaius) has been gone nearly a month without a post. Otm-Shank (William) nearly two. I'm still holding out some hope they'll return soon, but I need to make plans in case they don't.

Red Group still has five active members. However Blue Group is down to only three. At this point, I could attempt a redistribution to make two equal teams of four. I could also merge both groups into one large party. Unless, of course, Blue is fine with striving on as-is.

Thoughts?

I'm game for either idea.

Male Half-elf Paladin 4/Champion Tier 1

Whichever you prefer is fine. What would be the total of players if we merged, Voltron-like, into one party? I'm in a game or two with a large number of players. One game it works well since everyone gets along and finds ways to interact with each other even when there isn't "screen time" for their character. The other just started, so it's a little bit rocky with a lot of people running around trying to get some activity for their PC.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Merging would give us a party of eight. A bit on the high end, but workable. I've run games in real life with as many as ten players at a time. (Granted, I had to institute a "shot clock" for combat...)

Machinesmith 12 | HP: 93 | AC: 27 (17 Touch, 23 Flatfooted) | CMD: 27 | Fort: +12, Reflex: +14, Will: +7 | Init: +13 | Perception: +18, Sense Motive: +1

I think the red group can function fine without gaius. It's a fairly balanced group without him. It's blue group that could likely use the help.

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

I suppose another possibility is keeping the groups separate and recruiting a fourth player for the blue group.

I would rather not have a 8 person group. With 8 people it gets difficult and things start getting overlooked. I'd rather either move someone over or recruit a new player.

half elf, Water child alt race trait Legalistic cursed Oracle of Waves 2

Still here.

Just a combination of holidays and work and Gaius being far more interested in listening than talking in the bar.

Good to hear. Now if William shows up I won't have to worry about it at all. For the time being I'll keep running him in NPC mode, at least until this next upcoming encounter is over.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I found Otm Shank's email online and sent him an email. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Hopefully he's alright!

Male Human(ish) Level 7 RPG Monkey

Sounds good. Thanks.
