I was thinking about making a Gunslinger/Alchemist build, but beyond the basic Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot and Precise Shot I'm afraid I don't know much about building a good ranged fighter. Anyone have any good feats, like one that keeps others from taking attacks of opportunity when you are using your ranged weapon.

For a general ranged attacker, either Fighter or Ranger, you are referring to Point-Blank Master from the APG.
For a Gunslinger, however, it is the Deft Shootist feat from the playtest document.
As mentioned, Deadly Aim is good.
Rapid Reload is required to allow the gunslinger using his guns to get anywhere close to a full attack action.
Weapon Focus never hurts.
5th level Gunslinger gives a potentially serious boost to damage.

In addition to those you listed, Improved Precise Shot is a need-to-have feat, as it basically gives you a +4 to hit once melee is joined by your fellow PCs.
If your character wants to throw a huge lot of bombs in one round, the Two-weapon Fighting Feat chain applies (as it would with any thrown weapon BTW) and it is cumulative with Rapid Shot.
For a ranged character, being able to move easily is of prime importance. Feats like Dodge and Mobility will help you get away when the opponent gets too close for your comfort.
Also, one of the greatest advantage to ranged attacks is that you can full-attack while your mount is moving. Thus Mounted Archery can be quite useful.
Deadly Aim will not work with your bombs though, as they are touch attacks.

Thanks so much. Lots of good suggestions and I've put them into the character. The campaign this is really high stated and we're using the Gestalt rules from the 3.5 Unearthed Arcana book. So I have both the class abilities of an Alchemist and a Gunslinger and a feat at every level:
