Seeing the call for PFS GMs for Paizocon made me remember that Origins Game Fair is only 2.5 months away. My time with PFS at last year's con was the highlight of my weekend and I'd love to be able to help out this year. Is there anybody in particular that is taking charge of things this year? I can't find any official announcements, nor can I relocate the list of venture capt. appointments. I would really love to volunteer as a GM for at least part of the weekend.

I used to have some rather harsh opinions about Organized Play campaigns. That was until I hung out in the PFS room at Origins last year. I couldn't keep being a jerk in the face of so much awesome.My time with PFS at last year's con was the highlight of my weekend+1

We have asked The Gathering to oversee PFS events at Origins this year. They do a great job on other organized play campaigns such as the revamped Arcanis campaign, Witch Hunter, Fellowship of the White Star, etc. Working with The Gathering gives us more clout with GAMA and also a safety net in case there's more demand than we planned for. We still need lots of dedicated PFS GMs to run the 70+ sessions I have submitted. The call for GMs is still not quite ready, but when it is you will hear about it here as soon as I know.

The Gathering tends to be a good set of folks. The nice part is that by the majority of OP campaigns teaming up together like this, GAMA does tend to listen more to the needs of the group.

Below is the schedule that was submitted to The Gathering. I will start a new thread when the schedule is up and put out a call for GMs. The rewards package should be the same as last year. Volunteer for four slots and get a free convention badge (a $65 value). Volunteer for eight slots and they'll put you up in a local hotel and give you a free convention badge. I can't tell you when we will see The Gathering post the schedule and open it to GM volunteers, but it should be by mid-May at the latest. We are going to need a lot of volunteers, especially considering how many people show up with generic tickets hoping for a seat. The GMs who run the sanctioned modules will really need to be on top of their game in order for their tables to finish in time.

Doug, do the modules represent all the tables PFS will have?What? Me no understand question.Each module/scenario above, does it represent the only slots/tables that PFS has available to be GM'd at Origins?

Yes and Yes. Naturally we'll try to overbook GM's a bit and expect there to be a few slots where more players show up than tables offered. Last year we consistently ran 1 to 2 more tables per slot than we planned. So sign up to play, and it's likely if you're a good GM, you'll get asked to run something. :-)

My brilliant strategy of working 25 of the 30 days in April means that I will be able to attend as well.
So for as many slots as the fine Gathering folks want, there is a GM who is a notorious pushover. Well, ok, maybe except for the crits with x3 weapons.
And if my services as a GM are not required, there are plenty of slots where I can play.

Not sure if I qualify to be a minion anymore since I am now a Captain (woo-whoo), but you have my support for the entire con. Plus depending on when we arrive, a slot zero on Wednesday and after-con slot on Sunday. I'm just the driver so, I'll have to check with the gnome. ;-)

Oh, the consequences are already decided. I have to work as much overtime as I can during May, June, and July. She wants a house, and we got pre-approved. Saving for the down payment now.

A night alone with the paracountess would probably end with her dead, and me scooting out of Cheliax as fast as possible. I may be a paladin, but I'm not going to give up a chance to destroy a known and malicious evil.
Just want to make sure I have not missed anything. Still no GM sign-ups for Origins, right?
