Humorous One-Off

Advice

Silver Crusade

Okay, so I want to run a "one-off" adventure to kind of change up the pace in my campaign a bit. I was originally going to switch systems from Pathfinder to Paranoia, but while I love the system, I'm afraid it'll kill to much time teaching a new system, rather than just diving into a game.

SO the question is, does anyone know a good PFRPG adventure that's light-hearted, funny, and above all, quick? My gaming session will be about 5 hrs, and I'll be using pre-gens, so level isn't an issue. Paizo or 3PP is great, bonus points if it's available in PDF (as my local game store may not have it in print). What I really want is We Be Goblins, but I need it for this weekend, and my time machine is busted...

Thanks in advance.

If you're willing to do a little bit of conversion work and you can find a copy of Dungeon #41, "Old Man Katan & the Mushroom Band" is quick, easy, role-play-focused, and a heck of a lot of fun for a group whose GM who is willing to do funny voices and generally make an ass of himself at the game table.

Although written for 2nd Edition AD&D, the conversion work for this adventure is actually astonishingly easy - with d20pfsrd.com's monster builder tool and some dipping into the NPC Gallery, you can quickly adjust it to an appropriate difficulty for your PCs.

If getting a copy of this issue isn't practical, take a look at "Crown of the Kobold King" and its sequel, "Revenge of the Kobold King". While the adventures themselves are fairly serious dungeon crawls, some of the random encounters written in to supplement the dungeons are HILARIOUS - the drunken giant and his nagging wife play over well with most groups, as does the zombie kobold shaman (which I statted out as a deathlock under the control of the zombie's former familiar, a rat who now lives in the rotten corpse's empty brain pan - makes for great RP'ing and gives PCs who don't hack and slash an opportunity to gain an unorthodox ally if they'll share some of their food with the rat...).

Have to agree with Power Word Unzip, Old Man Katan And The Incredible, Edible, Dancing Mushroom Band is very good and easy to run, IIRC there is also a fun adventure titled A Way with Words in the same Dungeon issue.

A misguided kobold and a book of poems make a humorous villain!

Ah, yes, "A Way With Words" is a fun low level module. I particularly like the kobold who tries to "cast" a charm spell by reading love sonnets and then attempting to kiss a PC. =]

The Exchange

Box of Fflumpf was fun.

To be honest, I'd try Paranoia. It's really easy to learn the system; just roll a d20 and decide what the most amusing result would be. That's effectively it.
