Arcane duelist, any suggestions?

Advice

I made a level 3 arcane duelist, and he has just recently hit level 4 at the end of a long dungeon(which we managed to power through fairly easily). 18 str, power attacks with a longspear(Wanted a two hander, but was kind of limited in weapon choices). Seems to be the main damage dealer of the group at this point.

One thing im worried about though is AC...its pretty low, since he only has 14 dex with a chain shirt. Any advice on this?

I'd suggest possibly getting an armored coat when and if you get to level 9. Darn things are really nice as you can equip them as a standard action.

Also, for "normal clothing" wear quilted cloth. Its like padded armor but gives you a dr vs ranged weapons.

Also, always have a gauntlet on. Preferably spiked. This allows you to remain armed almost all the time.

Cat's Grace is a level 2 bard spell (I think). That would add +2 AC quick.

Going sword-n-board would add AC. You could then toss down the shield when appropriate to open up damage via two handed.
