All-around vision

Rules Questions

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

On monsters, ability states that they cannot be flanked and gives a +4 to perception.

On alternate Teifling abilities list, all-around vision does not include +4 to perception, but it has the same name.

Is this correct, or was the +4 to perception left out of Tiefling abilities by accident?

Thanks

Is all-around vision described as a monster ability in the bestiary? If it is, then I'd treat it as it is written there. If not, then treat it as written in the individual monster (tiefling in this case) entry.

Where are these alternate abilities?

They're in Pathfinder - Council of Thieves I - The Bastards of Erebus... don't know which # that is, but it's at the back and there's 100 alternate abilities to roll/choose from. Very cool.

It was probably excluded (the +4 bonus) for 'balance' reasons. The no flanking is nice enough as an alternate racial that you don't need to try to squeeze in an extra +4 to a skill (better then skill focus as a bonus feat)on top of it.
