when i was doing the cr math it wasnt adding up right can some gave me a hand

Quote:

Orc CR 1/3
XP 135
Orc warrior 1
CE Medium humanoid
Organization solitary, gang (2–4), squad (11–20 plus 2
sergeants of 3rd level and 1 leader of 3rd–6th level), or band
(30–100 plus 150% noncombatants plus 1 sergeant of 3rd
level per 10 adults, 1 lieutenant of 5th level per 20 adults,
and 1 leader of 7th level per 30 adults)

Organization

Solitary (1) Cr 1/3
Gang (2–4),
(2) CR 1
(3) CR 2 3X135=405 exp?
(4) CR 3 should be CR 2 600/135= 4.4 orcs

Squad (11–20 plus 2 sergeants of 3rd level and 1 leader of 3rd–6th level),
11 Orcs 1(orc) CR 1/3, 11(orcs) CR 6*
2 sergeants of 3rd level CR 1 each
1 leader at 4th CR 2
*But the math don’t add up CR6 = 2,400. 2,400/135 comes out to 17.7 Orcs not 11 so 11 orcs should be CR 5 1600. 1600/135= 11.8 orcs.

Band (30–100 plus 150% noncombatants plus 1 sergeant of 3rd level per 10 adults, 1 lieutenant of 5th level per 20 adults, and 1 leader of 7th level per 30 adults)
30 orcs 1(orc) CR 1/3 – 2 (16 orcs) CR 7*
150% = 45 noncombatants CR?
3 sergeant of 3rd level CR1 each
1 lieutenant of 5th level CR 3
1 leader of 7th level Cr 5
*Doing the math 35 comes out to be CR 8. 4800/135= 35.55 orcs. CR 7 is 3200/135= 23.7 orcs not 16
Noncombatants?????? CR? How do I do the math for them?

Did I do math wrong or something?

Dungeons question i dont do dungeon but each time i do one (like the attack of a orc base) with traps, orcs ext. i keep doing it wrong it seems to be otherpowered or underpowerd. how would i do the exp for dungeon?

If I get what you're asking, problem seems to be you're treating the whole band as one encoutner. Should split them up into a many smaller groups.

Non-combatants don't give XP since they don't fight. Also "you should never bother awarding XP for challenges that have a CR of 10 or more lower than the APL"

But say a party just busts into a camp of a minimum sized band of orcs.
Math should be:

30 orcs, each worth 135xp = 4,050xp
Three sergents 3rd level NPC class, each worth 400 = 1,200
One lieutenant 5th level NPC class, worth 800
One Leader 7th level NPC class, worth 1,600

Total xp = 7650xp
Which is between a CR9 (6,400xp) and CR10(9,600xp) encoutner.

They fight a part, then have a break, then fight another part. Split the orc base up and make each part an encoutner like it says in the guildlines in the game mastery section on page 397 of the core book.

Find the average level of the party. If there's 4 in the player's party and their levels are 4, 4, 4, and 5, then say the average is 4.

Then for each part, pick a CR for that encoutner. Pick a CR that is the same as the average level or one lower (easy) or up to three more than it (hard). So for that party that's average level is 4, you want CRs between 3 and 7, but most should be 4 or 5

Find how many XP that CR is for that one encoutner.

Then pick monsters for each encoutner at a time. Find out what XP they each are. Keep adding monsters until all their XP adds up to the total XP for the CR you picked for that one encoutner. Do that again for all the other encoutners.

Use the numbers for "Band" just to give you an idea, like a menu to pick from when making the encounters.
