Hi all,
I might try to get a game on the schedule this year but I'd also like to do some off-schedule gaming.
1) My friend and I won't be attending the banquet this year and I'm sure some other folks missed out on tickets as well. We'd like to try to get together a 1920's Cthulhu game (Chaosium, 6th edition) during the banquet time slot - and probably continuing a couple of hours afterward as well.
2) I've run Star Wars games (Saga) at the last two events and might like to do it again this time if anyone's interested.
All details TBD. If you're up for either of these feel free to post here - but drop-ins will certainly be welcomed. As we get closer to the event I'll post a time and tentative location.

I will be there and wont be at the banquet. I'd love to GM or play CoC during the banquet. Ditto for Star Wars. However, if I GM Star Wars it will be West End Games 2nd Ed. I have never played Sega but I would enjoy that as well. Count me in for at least one. Let me know if you want me to GM or play.

Heya. I was proposing these two as games I'd run and you'd be more than welcome to join in...but I'd certainly sign on as a player if you run Cthulu or Star Wars too!
In fact I might even skip running Saga to play in your WEG Star Wars game should you run one. I've never played that system but have perused the books and have heard testimony from lots of folk that enjoy it. I could probably guarantee that my friend would want to play as well...I think she *does* have some experience with it. I have a boatload of the WotC Star Wars minis, including some vehicles (and a similar-scale YT-1300 and Firespray) and could contribute those to the game. I always seem to end up running SW but have only been able to play a couple of times. :(

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me!
I'm going to be running two other Cthulhu-themed games during the normal hours of the con, and would totally be up to being a player in one during the banquet.
I'll be there with two other friends who I know would be interested as well, if you have that much room :) (If not, then screw 'em, if they wanted in the game, they can check the message boards themselves :)

Yes, please count me in as a player for your Cathulu! I also have a friend who might want to play.

Give me a week or two to 'get inspired' (or not) and I will let you know if I will be running a WEG d6 Star Wars adventure.

Cool. I hear Jedi are pretty powerful in that system? I'm perfectly good staying away from that sort of thing if you want to run a smuggler or Rebel game or something. :) Jedi seem a little overly powerful in Saga too, though I've been running a couple of friends in a Jedi-only campaign off and on and it has been a blast...very Star Wars-y.
For the CoC game, I'll make a list of usernames that have posted here in first-come order and post the time/place here. Show up and play or, if you get distracted by something else skip it and I'll take the next name from the list or a walk-in if no one else comes. Looking forward to meeting you guys.

mearrin69, my friend will not be coming, so it will be just me playing in your CoC adventure. Would that be 6pm on Saturday?
I did get inspired for a WEG Star Wars game and have started working on it. However, I worry that I might over extending myself since I have another PF FR adventure I will be running and I bravely signed up for 3 PFS slots. If I decide to run it I will let you know.

TBH I haven't really delved into the schedule yet...have to do that soon but real-life has gotten in my way a bit for the past couple of weeks. Did a quick look around but can't see when the banquet (or anything else) is scheduled to take place.
I plan to grab some dinner, set up, and would like to get playing at about the time the banquet starts or maybe a little before. Will post a time here when I find out something more about the event schedule.
Please do let me know about SW...I could probably round up a couple more players too.

What the last event on Sunday? I'll be driving home Sunday night, but possibly pretty late, so might be able to play something then.
Zylphryx: Be good to see you again!
I don't have for-sure plans to run Star Wars Saga this year but may do so as an ad-hoc sort of thing. If marv runs the WEG game I'd like to sit in on that for sure.
Definitely doing CoC during the banquet.

Be good to see you again as well. :)
A friend here in Asheville is working up a WEG SW game that should be starting shortly ... we hop into that one every once in a while and it is a good system. Combat can be brutal, but it is always fun.
As I have not yet figured out if I can swing getting out there, I will not be atending the banquet (barring some Act of the Gods), so I will most likely be hunting down a game during that window. Believe it or not, I still have not played CoC, though I am a Lovecraft fan.

Hopefully you can make it out and join the CoC game. I'm actually pretty new to it myself and haven't yet run 1920s, though I've been running a modern game set in Portland. We'll be getting into some "real" CoC in one of my local games soon.
I've been tossing around ideas for Star Wars and think I've got something I could run at the show. Have to figure out schedule though...might be able to do it Thursday evening.

Mearrin69, I am very sad to day I can not attend PaizoCon this year. An important family event has come up. So, unfortunatly, I will not be playing in your CoC game and I will not be running Star Wars. :(
Have a great time!

Heya Marv,
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it's a wedding or other *good* family event!
M
Yes, very good. My son is graduating from high school right in the middle of the weekend. There was a time, not so long ago, when this was an unlikely event. I am very proud of how he has turned his life around from a bad path.

Okay, here's the final word from me on this, with a little change of plan.
1) I'll be running a mid-level Star Wars Saga game on Saturday night during the banquet. We'll start at around 7pm and go until whenever. I'll provide pre-gen characters to choose from (with a little backstory) and have minis and Galaxy Tiles and big ships and little ships and maybe even an opening crawl if I can get it put together in time. There'll be firefights and sneaking and space battles and lots of other Star Warsy stuff. The theme is a daring escape...from something that may or may not be a small moon!
2) My friend will be running a CoC game on Thursday night before the con begins. I'm not entirely sure of the parameters but I know that all materials will be provided. I'd say it'll probably begin at around 6pm but I'll check with her to be sure. Anybody know if any of the open gaming rooms are open that night?
So, guess that wasn't the final word. :) I'll be back when I know for sure when the CoC game will be taking place and where folks should meet up.

I almost joined in last year's Saga game you were putting on, but I was way to exhausted by that point, plus the thought of going way late with a 8am session waiting for me was not something I could handle.
Sadly, I can't join this time as I won't be staying at the hotel. Going out with friends for my birthday dinner that evening. May the Force be with you!

Thanks for that...I think you are correct. I don't recall seeing anything open last year or the year before.
I believe we're going to try to meet up in the upper lobby (above the bar/grill, where the registration booth will be) at around 5pm on Thursday night for the CoC game. I will verify that closer to the event.

Setting off tomorrow morning, arriving early afternoon.
* Looks like we're all set for Call of Cthulhu, run by my friend, at 1730 or so. Pre-gens provided. If you want to get in to the game please meet up in the "upper lobby" (above the bar/grill, near where the registration desk will be on Friday). Not sure exactly how many slots are available but I'm thinking four beyond the two already filled. If a bunch more potential players show up maybe we'll break off and create another group.
* Star Wars: Escape from the Death Star will take place starting at 1800-1830 on Saturday during the banquet and may continue until the wee hours, depending on how things go. I'll hopefully have ten pre-gens to choose from, with the intention of having up to about eight people actually play. This year the hangar bay will feature my newly-built Firespray-31 patrol craft!
Looking forward to seeing you guys there.

Is this game happening Thursday night or Friday night? If it's Thursday, I'd like to play if you're good with a newb to CoC although I've read through some of the basic rules
