How big is a horse exactly?

Are horses (large size creatures) 5x10 or 10x10? I know they were considered 5x10 in 3.5 D&D. What about in Pathfinder?

Thanks for any help!

In pathfinder a horse's fighting space (rather than its literal size) is 10x10 feet.

10 x 10. They're assumed to turn in any direction required, but have to go slowly (squeeze) through a space 5 feet wide or smaller.

I'm not entirely sure about that. Horses are large. Horses have a natural reach of 5 feet. Therefore using this table, they should be 5x10.

Well a bit further down in your link, there are illustrations of the spaces the different creatures occupy. By these the large(long) creature takes up 10x10 just like the large(tall) one.

Which is the same as in 3.5.

Incorrect. They got rid of 5x10 from 3.0 to 3.5, because 5x10 inherently implies facing.

Yes, that's right.

Yes. The horse takes up a space 10' x 10'. It can use any of its attacks against creatures within 5' of that space.

Your're not crazy. The 5X10 was how it worked in 3.0
