In pathfinder a horse's fighting space (rather than its literal size) is 10x10 feet.
I'm not entirely sure about that. Horses are large. Horses have a natural reach of 5 feet. Therefore using this table, they should be 5x10.

Well a bit further down in your link, there are illustrations of the spaces the different creatures occupy. By these the large(long) creature takes up 10x10 just like the large(tall) one.

Yes, that's right.
Horses are large. Horses have a natural reach of 5 feet.
Yes. The horse takes up a space 10' x 10'. It can use any of its attacks against creatures within 5' of that space.
