I have scoured many sources looking for a way to formally request sponsorship form allowing Bureaucratic types to offically donate cash or material for gaming sessions to be held in any location.
I ask this question for multiple reasons:
1) Being former military I know how much they love legal binding forms, and will do anything to get sailors out of alcohol and trouble.
2) Athought some Naval shops (called NEX short for Naval exchange) carry games, ours' is putting most of the beloved games on the bargain bin and that is one step too close to not being carried in our store for my taste.
3) We have a local gaming shop by the name of "Atlantis Games and Comics", however he can only cover and do so much stuff in his shop...in other words, he needs more space for not only products, people, but also for the game sessions and tournaments that are sometimes scheduled at the same times.
4) A local gaming shop doesn't have the funding to cover the type of sponsorship that the navy could provide.
5) "Atlantis Games and Comics" and the Nex are rivals, but the Nex has to give back to the community and can't give back unless there is paperwork that allows them to do so and this paperwork has to be generated at the source of the inquiry and "Atlantis Games and Comics" can't inquire, because that would be a breach of business ethics and resources.
***6) and the most important one of all is from any sailor that walked through "Atlantis Games and Comics' door is; "they would rather be at "Atlantis Games", than drinking."***
If this is not a good enough reason to not only help the community, promote your products, investage a new way of helping a gaming community grow...Then think of all the sailors you would be helping, instead of fueling on alcohol, they will be with a community of peers being fueled not only your products, but by friendship.
OR if that is too sweet for your taste buds, how about thinking of it this way: "Free money to shovel into not only any game shop you want to chose, but almost straight into Paizo pockets."
Any thoughts or formal documents could be E-mailed to: Endorphinsend@yahoo.com
or "Atlantis Games and Comics" has their own website:
www.atlantis-comics.com
Thank you all for your time and consideration.

Just another gamer- not anyone at Paizo or anything..
but I am completely baffled on just exactly what you are asking for.
Are you asking for papers by Paizo requesting the NEX to sponsor games?
Or papers from Paizo allowing the NEX to host games?
or.. eh?
Confusion.. is probably just all me though.

I believe that Joesph is looking for example documents that could be modified so that he (or some other group) can make the request of the local NEX to formally sponsor/support RPG gaming (via materials or event space) as a recreational alternative for local navy personnel.
I am not a veteran, so I'm just guessing here, but is there a Naval/Military Families support organization locally? They would seem to be the natural source for such a request, and may well have experience with navigating the process. Even a non-military Community Center might be a reasonable source, with the community being the primary benefactor and naval personnel getting the benefits as well.

Look I am sorry that the post is a little on the confusing side, what I had hoped to do, before getting out and going to NY...Was to get a document or file or other unmentioned paperwork(s) started that came from the company (paizo) and went to the game store (Atlantis) AFTER the navy put their official stamp and threw money into the idea.
the paperwork would state something like "community project, just like the little kids D.A.R.E. programs" Only this would be D.A.R.E. for sailors and involve set game times and places.
The reasons that the NEX can't do it, is because "the game store is competition and even though the NEX says it does community events, they don't and all community stuff needs to go through the navy anyways".
The reasons Atlantis can't do it, is because his assets are tied into the store and the store can't compete with the NEX.
And here is the silliest of the reasons why the Navy can't do it
(at least not without a cattle prod):
"Even though it is a so called wholesome event for those that like it, the navy does not and will not give out resources to those who do not have and will not generated an appropriate documentation(s) from the source of request showing a legitimate business, the business' idea, what the request will be for, how it will impact the not only the navy, but the community as well and if there are negative sides to this."
So its not paper work for the NEX, its for the navy itself and support groups of the navy don't take a fancy to the sword and shield crowd... they may try to get you to "kick the habit", but gamers honestly know the drill.
Heck as is, there are now no legitimate gaming stores that carry good accessories in central NY that are outside of Syracuse, and if any of you suggest Barns and Noble... Please hit yourselves now, I am talking things like the pathfinder adventure packs, gamma world card packs, minis, etc. Even Utica NY target that claims to have all things gamma world in stock in store...Doesn't have squat in its' store. Sure they carry Yugioh and Pokemon, but not a lick of what they claim.

Okay originally I stated that Central NY has no more gaming places...well deep within the bowels New York Mills overshadow by a warehouse sized many level fitness mill, hidden upstairs, inside a picture frame / sports memorabilia store in the part of the building that is crumbling sits a place called:
Storytellers...
the place has wifi, magic cards, dice, a SMALL assortment random game books, minis for lord of the rings 1 PACK.
This place only has 2 things going for it, its the only game in town and it has a famous person for a GM when he shows.
right now the frame/sports place is moving out, but that doesn't mean anything if the Storytellers' crew can't get out of the closet space they are in. This place makes me super-duper sad to be a gamer.
This time instead of begging for insanity, I will ask simply does anyone know how to get business grants and etc to take the only game place in town and make it good?
