Whirlwind attack + Other feats

Rules Questions

I've read many a posts about Whirlwind used in conjunction with Power Attack, Lunge, Cleave, etc.

Each say that "Yes it's possible because Power Attack, Lunge, Cleave, etc. says nothing against it!"

They never talk about whirlwind attack, however. In the wording of the feat, "When you use the Whirlwind Attack feat, you also forfeit any bonus or extra attacks granted by other feats, spells, or abilities."

You can't use the bonuses or the extra attacks from other feats. You can't use the bonus damage from Power attack. You can use the bonus range from Lunge. You can't use the bonus attack from Cleave. It seems to me that this is what Whirlwind Attack states.

If you guys have anything that says otherwise, I would love to see it.

I love using Power Attack + Arcane Strike + Lunge + Whirlwind + insert attack bonus here, but my DM has ruled against it because of the wording on Whirlwind. I personally take it just to mean bonus attacks

"Bonus or extra attacks" can be read as "bonus attacks or extra attacks" - the difference being a bonus is one that can be triggered under the right circumstances (like cleave), and an extra is an attack you can always make while using the feat (like two-weapon fighting or rapid shot). Anything that modifies your attack (like Lunge or Power Attack) is still valid.

Thanks, Bobson.

That's how I was reading it, and I just presented this to my DM. He agrees. You, sir, are a savior
