Is the original so slow that rendering PDFs is a hassle?
I use a several year old desktop using an USB connected external HD and PDFs render quickly and I can scroll through them without much of a hiccup.
Granted the only paizo stuff I have is beta/playtest right now, but even those have drm/pictures/borders, so what's the big deal?

I spent nearly two hours over the weekend at my local Verizon Store, test driving the iPad, iPad2, Xoom, and several "smart phones" (with the exception of the iPhone, I didn't touch it).
The iPad2 was significantly faster rendering PDFs than anything else I messed with. It didn't so much "render the PDF" as show it too me as I glanced at it.
It was fast.
I don't own an iPad now, but I have absolutely no reservations after holding one in my hands that (1) I should have got an iPad last year, and (2) the iPad2 is worth the money.

Glad I wasn't the only one with that problem.
I also have issues in good reader with the ISWG rendering with the background image all down in one corner.

to render PDF I use iBooks. what I do is open the thumbnails and it will render a bunch at once then I can read them no problem.
good reader is good for slot of things and renders PDF faster but I find over all navigation I'n iBook easier.
Over the weekend I made my first try at DMing with only the iPad 2, and I used about 4 different apps, Spellbook, DM Tools, iBooks, and Goodreader. I actually liked having 2 PDF readers as I could have my module / scenario open in iBooks and Goodreader has my collection of rulebooks etc. This would be solved if there was a good way to switch between recently open books in Goodreader (or iBooks).

I purchased the iPad 2 today (yay!) and loaded up the Pathfinder Core Rulebook. iBooks renders the pages of the PDF considerably faster than version 1, and the viewing quality is clearer -- which I hadn't anticipated.
Loading the chaptered version of the book (multiple PDFs) adds to the speed of loading also.
Call me a happy gamer. :-)

We fixed that background image issue in a new version of the Inner Sea World Guide on Wednesday. (Those of you who found it slow before—is it any faster now?)
