To Kill a Mockingbird

Off-Topic Discussions

Okay.

Here's the setup.
Tree in the yard.
Street light.
Mockingbird that every night at 1 a.m. like clockwork sits in tree and holds a 3-4 hour long solo concert waking up the entire house.
I've tried throwing stuff at it; it flies away and comes back 15 minutes later....
So sleepy....
Is there any way to get rid of this thing without chopping down the tree or killing the mockingbird?
(I'm not to that point yet. State bird and all.....)

Stuffed owl perched on the same tree limb should work.

I still think wrist rocket works better.

I was thinking a cat, but I bet an owl will work.

Yeah.....I guess I'm being kinda anal, but I want to solve the problem without any actual bloodshed, or killing the state bird. I get a "ryme of the ancient mariner" vibe from that.

The Exchange

Just put seed out for him...

Shoot blanks at it. Local ordinances not withstanding it works wonders.

Pour cat piss in the area of it's favorite branch and it will never come back to that tree.

Watch this, it will answer all you're questions.

The Exchange

Paintballs, it will learn
Damn yellow raccoons stopped showing up after a couple of nights......

Didja killit?

Naah. It leaves every time I approach now.
I'm a human scarecrow.
I stand in the front yard all night, so my wife can sleep.

Yer all heart, boss!

Have an old motion-activated Billy Bass? Hang that in the tree.

Worst thing is you teach it a new song.

I think I like that idea, mockingbird or no.
The world needs more trees with singing fish in them.
