That sounds good enough, doesn't it? No need for reactivation without the possibility of deactivation. Of yourse, one could argue that this is meant as a reaction to dispelling.
The spell "unholy aura" itself is dismissible, so maybe make dismissing the constant aura a standard action, too.
Since it does state:
"Spell-like abilities are magical and work just like spells (though they are not spells and so have no verbal, somatic, focus, or material components)."I would say that if the spell is dismissible, then the spell-like ability is also, following the same rules.

Any other insights on this question? Can a constant spell-like ability be turned off? As a swift action?
Also, how exactly do constant spell-like abilities function? Does a hound archon with constant detect evil do this without effort? Or does it take a swift action to concentrate (and still require 3 rounds of concentrating to get the full effect)?

Anyone?
Additionally... if a constant spell-like ability always functions and cannot be turned off, but if concentration is normally required for the spell, does it require a swift action to concentrate?

This(ability to turn off abilities) was specifically called out in 3.5. I am sure it was the intent in Pathfinder also. I will see if I can find supporting text though.
Concentration is not required for an always on ability. That would go directly against the always on statement if the character had to concentrate to keep it up.
PS:I could not find the text that says the monster can turn it off, but most SU's than can be turned off work as a free action and this is stated in the monster's stat block.
Sorry I have no proof, other than I know it can be turned off, but it might need a good reason to do so. As an example I don't know why a monster with true seeing would ever try to turn it off.

So... how does a constant spell-like ability work for detect evil? Normally, you have to direct it in a cone (which I imagine is still the case), and each round of concentration in specific area reveals more info over 3 rounds.
I'm assuming that you cannot automatically detect evil in all directions and also get 3 rounds of info instantaneously. Would a swift action simply replace the standard action of concentration? Or were rules for this simply left out (either by accident or for DMs to determine)?

It still takes 3 round to get all the information. You just don't have to concentrate, but you do still have to aim the cone.
