I would like to start an online Pathfinder campaign set in the Dark Golden Age campaign setting for Pathfinder RPG. We will use MapTool and Skype for our virtual game table and communication. Most likely, game sessions will be on Tuesday evenings from 8pm to 10:30pm CST. The campaign will start at 2nd level with all Core, APG, and bySwarm rules available.
The Dark Golden Age is a high fantasy setting but with beastfolk taking the place of the traditional demihuman races. Three years ago, it was the golden age of magic in Gondal. Humans rode about on flying carpets, had golems and animated tools that did the majority of their work. In order to keep the masses from becoming bored, the arcane schools created magical beasts to fight in gladiatorial combat to entertain the people. Owlbears, chimera and more were created in their experiments. Some even ventured into magically crossing human and animal stock, resulting in the beastfolk.
All of these creatures were enslaved through the magic of the School of Domination. The danger with this kind of control arrived when magic ceased functioning about three years ago. Imagine a society as dependent on magic as we are on electricity, and then remove that core component. It would be chaos. Since the initial Collapse, some have found new ways to work magic. Some have even managed to make a connection to greater powers in the form of divine magic, something that did not exist before the Collapse.
The main objectives for the PCs will depend on the players. If you are interested in joining, leave a comment here including what theme(s) interest you. Some themes could include:

Hi I am interested in this but had a question regarding the beastfolk, I don't really have a theme per say as I am still reading all the information you posted. Anyway in the link you posted to the beastfolk it talks about points for the various abilities? I am not familiar with these or even if I need to be, is this something the player needs to deal with or is this more related to custom game content?
Thanks.

You don't need to worry about them as they are our notes for game balancing our designs.

Well, I'm going to have to go with:
Defending an area against rampaging monsters
Seeking out magical treasure that survived the Collapse
Investigating the cause of the Collapse
Basically, the concepts of meta-discovery, protection, or the classic amassing of wealth and power are all good for me. I'm not so much for overthrowing groups of people since that usually incorporates more politics than I really enjoy.
Still reading through the links :p

So, I'm wondering now if the beastfolk page entries are available for player use or not. Or which ones in particular are allowed.

These have been the most play-tested and would definitely be allowed:
bySwarm - Boriwog, Egalit, Galdines, Hounding, Lupine, Muroideans, Testudo
OGL - Gnoll, Kobold, Tengu
Others may potentially be allowed depending on whether they can be balanced to enter play. For me, it's more a fairness to the other players issue, so I'm willing to go with ideas you have as well.
*Edit - Humans are legal, too, and are the majority population in most areas.

Assuming anything with a CR higher than +1 would be out of the question as well if we are starting at level 2. Would Ursidians be allowed? The entry for them doesn't list them as a level adjusted race or anything, and something about playing a bear just seems strangely appealing XD.
As far as themes, I am thinking either searching for treasure or investigating the cause of the collapse (purely from an adventuring standpoint rather than actually wanting to know what caused it). Basically my character would be more interested in testing his strength against various challenges regardless of what they may be.
Also what are the starting rules? You gave us the starting level, any restrictions? Point buy or dice roll? Any special house rules?
*edit* By the way it appears several of the pages for some of the beastfolk are down, the Galadines and Testudo being the first few I have noticed.

Nice catch on the broken links. You should be able to search for those races to get to the pages until I (or anyone else logs in since it's wiki-style) make the changes.
I know the ones I listed pretty well and have run about a dozen sessions with each of them. Any others - like the Ursidians - will likely need a bit of tweaking. Pathfinder doesn't have level adjustments technically, but that doesn't mean we couldn't use them. If you would really like to play a Ursidian though, I'd rather spend a bit of time trying to get them balanced and therefore readily playable. Let me know if you'd like to do that.
Other character generation details:
Core Rulebook, APG, Adventurer's Armory
25 point build
1000gp of equipment, magic items allowed
House rules:
Clerics - Choose one alignment domain plus any other domain as a baseline identifier of your deity. There is no worldwide pantheon, but clerics are able to somehow draw their power from about any being they worship. A cleric with Chaos and Liberation might is likely to be rebellion-oriented while a cleric with Law and Liberation is likely to seek legal means of freeing enslaved beings. Use your creativity. :)
No XP - I'll let you know when you level, typically every 2 to 4 sessions.
Starting Hero Points - 1 + 1 additional if you make a strong backstory connection to another PC.
Earning extra Hero Points - 1 extra per session for making addition to byswarm.com site.

I've started a forum post on the byswarm.com forum. Feel free to move questions and discussion there once you've expressed interest here. I will cap the game at 6 players.

I'm not able to register right now at your forum. Don't know why. It may be the browser I have here at work. I will try again when I get home. Mark me down for a Galadine rogue as far as interest goes.
Hit me up on Skype tonight, and we'll see if we can get you hooked up.
I am interested. Let me know what you need from me further than the interests.
I like the idea of seeking out magical treasure and investigating the cause of the collapse.
