GMing modules

The Exchange 4/5

I don't know if or where this was covered, but if you GM one of the modules that has been released, does that count as if having GM'ed 3 scenarios? I was wondering about its effects towards your GM star ranking. :)

I'm not sure what your question is...

Do you mean if you GM the same adventure 3 times does it count as 3 for your star rating? That is my understanding. Star rating works with the number of tables that you run. Whether you do the same mod X times or X mods 1 time makes no difference on your rating.

I think that he's referring to the fact that it is essentially 2-3 slots to complete something like "Godsmouth Heresy." So does each session count as an individual occurrence towards star rating, or does the entire mod only count once.

Ok, so there is a difference between modules and scenarios. Playing a module = playing 3 scenarios for 3 XP and 1.5 PA. My question is, if you GM a module, do you get to count that as having GM'ed 3 scenarios? I believe the answer is obvious, I just want to confirm.

I think the answer is no. As I see it, you only report the game once, at the conclusion. That would lead me to believe that it only occupies a single entry in the reporting database, therefore only one "point" towards star rating.

No, you cannot be a 2 star GM by running Godsmouth 10 times. :P

TwilightKnight is correct. Although Godsmouth and Ebon Destroyers take 8-10 hours to run, they only count as a single session toward your GM ranking.

I wish I had enough players and farm of potential players to run Godsmouth 10 times, no matter the number of stars. I'm hoping to just set it up for a session lasting 3 sessions with the same people.
But I do think that 1st the OP's message does need to be a bit clearer, and this should also be in either the FAQ (which it could) or the updated PFS Guide, because we'll have more questions like these as the GameMastery line of modules gets longer.
