Would a monster with the swallow whole ability and stoneskin cast on it get the benefit of the stoneskin on attacks made against it by creatures cutting their way out of it's stomach?
Seems like a really nasty way to buff a summoned T Rex.
After looking through the rules on damage reduction and swallow whole, I can't find any mention that damage reduction wouldn't apply. You're attacking the same monster from the inside as you are from the outside.
Yes, it would make it much more difficult to cut one's way out of the monster. If it's summoned, though, it will only stick around for a few rounds, maybe a few minutes if you're a summoner. If I were spending 250GP casting Stoneskin on a summoned creature, I'd better make sure that the fighters had theirs already...

The warded creature gains resistance to blows, cuts, stabs, and slashes. The subject gains DR 10/adamantine. It ignores the first 10 points of damage each time it takes damage from a weapon, though an adamantine weapon bypasses the reduction. Once the spell has prevented a total of 10 points of damage per caster level (maximum 150 points), it is discharged.
While the spell is called Stoneskin it doesn't by text say it only applies to the skin of the subject.
Definitely a case where I think RAI would state it was meant to apply to the outside, but by RAW it seems as though it would work.

Well, it used to say it turned your skin to stone.
Oh well.

I can't speak for DR in general, but stoneSKIN specifically only effects the skin, no? Skin is on the outside of the body, not the outside, if I am not mistaken.

The stomach is not normal AC in any other way, I'm not sure why suddenly it should be in this particular way. Effects like barkskin, stoneskin, mage armor, monk's armor bonus, etc... just wouldn't apply.
While you could argue that, it doesnt change the fact that a creature breaking out from the inside still has to cut through it's skin too.

This is a very tricky one. While I agree that the spell as written should apply to attacks made from inside, a warrior willingly allowing themselves to be swallowed to attack a beast from the inside is an established trope. I'd hate to screw over someone who came up with that idea to avoid a stoneskin.

You don't have to cut through a creatures natural armor to get out, or any armor they are wearing. Nor do you have to overcome DR/ Magic to get out of a dragons stomach. Or DR/ Silver or DR/ anything ever to cut your way out of anything's stomach.

Well actually you still have to cut through 1/2 it's natural armor to cut your way out. AC is 10 +1/2 natural armor bonus, so barkskin would work at least at half effectiveness. As a case to case ruling I might settle to half the DR the creature receives too. DR is often represented by the creature's ability to heal wounds almost instantly, or being extraordinarily tough to hurt.

Actually i love the idea of punishing the fighters player for metagaming and recognizing the effects and name of the spell.

The general case is things that affect normal AC do not affect the stomach AC.
Ring of protection? Mage Armor? Actual armor? Shield Spells?
None of it affects stomach AC, nor does any DR. If you want to get creative feel free.

natural armor affects stomach ac though... obviously the examples you give do not, since it says half natural armor.
Not entirely unreasonable since even from the inside you need to penetrate the hide or skin even if it is to break out, personally I am not for making being swallowed whole the safe choice to go.

Grapple / Swallow Whole based eidolon, and summoners do get the spell.
