Spell Resistance

Quick question; do spell resistances stack? Say if you had an innate spell resistance and a Robe of the Archmagi; would your SR be the combined total? What if it came from two items?

I do not believe they stack. They each give a static amount of SR.

A creature with 22 SR dons an item giving 18 SR (12th level monk + robe: archmagi) has an SR rating of 22, not 40.

EDIT: To follow up. It is like Armor. These items give a set number for AC. Full plate and leather do not give a +11 AC, just +9 for the better armor.
