Blame my iPod for having TF2 music on it.
For those of you who wouldn't gnash your teeth at someone attempting such a feat, how would you adjudicate "rocket jumping"? That is, the use of an explosion's blastwave to increase one's jumping height or distance.
It could be anything from the action movie-ish "don't jump until the background is exploding" shot or someone intentionally using certain types of alchemist bombs or other such things to pull off a particularly improbable jump.

Hmm ... assuming it's an alchemist bomb, I'd have them take the damage and they'd get an extra five feet of air per d6 of bomb damage.

Ah, love that game!
Well, it'd require a lot of houseruling on the amount of concussive force needed to propel your character forward and upward. Don't know where to even start with that though.
I imagine that you would make an Acrobatics check as the bomb/fireball explodes to "ride the shockwave" a certain distance, perhaps based on the number of damage dice the explosion had. Perhaps it would tie into the Reflex saves a lot of explosive spells allow for.

What about the explosive runes guide to rocket jumping?
There are a few non-explosive spells and items that can help propel an individual, GM allowing. Maybe the decanter of endless water or a well-timed hydraulic push.
Our group have actually tried to do the maths on this (in the context of creating a jetpack!) - and it ain't pretty. You're looking at a dozen decanters to keep you in the ar, let alone give you motion...

Frankly unless the explosion effect (be it spell or alchemcal ability or whatever) has a function that, in addition to damage, it has a 'push' that would move the victims of the effect, I would probably say such a tactic is not feasable as a voluntary use.
Frankly, once you allow it with say an alchemist bomb or fireball or Etc., your opening the door to the players moving the enemy around the battlefield with abilities that were not designed to do that. After all if that alchemist bonb can blow me 10 feet in the air why can't it blow the enemy 10 away?
Area effect damage does not always carry enough pressure or blast wave to also significantly move anything in the area. In fact there are few effects in PF or D&D that I can think of that even do that, though there was an 'Explosive Spell' feat that was designed to do EXACTLY that in one of the Complete books for 3.5.
