Okay folks. I'm about to head out the door- I have Kingmaker Sunday today(rare, it's usually Kingmaker Saturday), and next Sunday and the Sunday after that are going to be for Darklight Sisterhood.
Things are getting real in the Kingmaker game today, and I'm going to have something tying this game to the Darklight Sisterhood game and the upcoming Iron Gods game. Here's hoping everything gets pulled off properly...
I hope your game today is going very well!

About 13 years ago, a little while after we lost our Siamese cat, Blue, my wife and I went to the animal shelter and picked out two cats. We took our (at the time) young children to the shelter to see the cats, and they ended up choosing two entirely different cats, and those two cats went home with us instead, of course. One of the cats, Wolfie, was a gentle and loving kitty, and she had a pretty good life with us I think.
Today we had to put her to sleep because of congestive heart failure.
Goodbye, Wolfie. May your travels take you someplace sunny and warm.
I'm sorry for your loss.

Sounds like the beginning of THE PLAGUE

At least, that's what it is in our neck of the woods.
Hope you feel better soon MJ.

Thank you all for your well-wishes.
I know I need to handle well-wishes better. I'm... not good at it.

Well that was a weekend, much humidity and rain. Went over to friends to help them pack Saturday and Sunday was D&D as usual.
However, GM got grumpy with us players for dithering around: so our PC's got captured and locked up in a force cage (again)
Feel free to pass some of that along (the rain, not the grumpy GM).

My friend down south even had some green lightning on Friday. But I just got the regular stuff.

Also, to add to things, they finally got a complete scan that wasn't lost. Confirmed some definite structural issues. Bit of brain damage seen among the scans. Got me on a series of medications to try to compensate.
I hope this leads to some relief(?), or positive changes, for you.

So, after much deliberation, I've decided to apply for/accept the offer presented to me by one of the high schools here. They're willing to "hire" me now, pending completion of classes, with availability to start in January.
It's not with my first choice. I have little/no respect for the person who will be my direct supervisor. (I know too much about her, since she used to work under my dad. Stunts she pulled, poor teaching practices, etc. I hope she's matured, but we'll see.) BUT, it's a job. Something I haven't had in 6 years. And it's a foot in the door with the district. I can always transfer schools if I feel the need to.

At least they found the brain! You can now brag that your brain existence is scientifically proven! ;)

Good luck with the new position when it starts. It sounds like you made a good decision.

I believe, everyone misses that!

And of course, OF COURSE, after making this decision... I get a call from my university. My new advisor (since my old one switched jobs) says that he doesn't think he's allowed to schedule my classes as I had previously discussed. Meaning he thinks I won't be able to finish until FEBRUARY 15 instead of Jan 19.
ARGH.

I'm sorry your GM was so grumpy. I hope that it is a problem solved in the future.

It must be summer. It's 2:30 in the afternoon and I'm still only one item of clothing away from having to make all my posts at the top of a page.
Hopefully you see rain soon. It would be better if the rain cooled your area down without adding humidity. Rain here is both a blessing and a curse because of humidity; blessing for the temporary cooling, curse because things end up worse once the storm ends.

No, I don't. I'm realistic enough about myself to know it is a failing. Probably like how much I post on this topic at a stretch. It looks like it's incredibly disruptive. I should post less...

Alas, they found no evidence of usage. So, it might be virgin brain; completely unspoilt by that pesky activity that makes other brains useless for acting as spares.

Well. This sucks.
No games this week. Monday's GM is sick. And I've been put on twelve hour overtime - 6 AM to 7 PM - and thus will be in no condition to GM on Thursday.
I am going to be so useless by the end of the week.
I am sorry there are no games this week and you're going to be so busy working. I hope that you manage to get a lot of rest this weekend.

I concur. This is horrible to happen, especially with how it may affect job prospects. I hope the adviser can find some way to schedule the classes.

Well my fault really. I decided to side with a grumpy player* and turn back 1 or two levels to explore a door....which was locked and we dithered trying to open it.

Not sure possibly. I was playing Mechwarrior: Online with him when he was startled by the green flash, later there was more normal forked lightning. Of course last night we were playing a bit of Warthinder & his place was getting buzzed by helicopters (well twice).

Was about to wish you good luck on the job you took, with the hope that the supervisor had chilled / matured, but it sounds like this complicates things. Sorry to hear it, and hope this doesn't affect the job prospects too negatively.

I dunno, man, your response looked fine to me. Here, take this Chillaxe, and try to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. :)
Also, good to know I'm not the only new face worrying about that sometimes. No one's kicked us out yet, we're probably in the clear. :P
