It's a little after 8 pm here in Sasebo. Long day. Got out and about to get familiar with the base, met most of the repair facility POCs I'll be working with, and got some much needed supplies.
As I mentioned, the place I'm staying has a Keurig coffee maker in the room. Well, the facility where my room is (the BQ or BOQ) is kind of like a hotel in that it has a housekeeping staff that'll come by to clean your room. They also restock the K-cups!!!

And the whole place is really neat. The town of Sasebo has a really great harbor, and is surrounded by mountains (I guess you can call them that). I look up while walking around, and passed a certain level of elevation, all you see is tree covered mountain - very pretty. I'll try to take some pictures and get them up on FB (but likely not until after I'm back).
And even though we've got our Navy presence here, it's still a small town mindset in the locals - very laid back, very friendly. That attitude permeates the base as well - you walk along and the people you pass will actually smile and maybe say hello to you.

Excellent, my Paizo order containing the Dresden File RPG books arrived today.
Boy the books are big. It'll take me a while to munch through them pages.
One thing, though, this is the third order I get from Paizo that says contains a catalog and comes without catalog. I miss the tiny leaflets.
If you have the receipt you can get the pdf's for free! Check out their website and you can e-mail them a copy.

Well... if you got to Sweden you could watch it for free on , but apart from that I can't really find much more than [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnReEsnhv64]this and, oh this.

good morning FaWtL
I have arrived savly in Italy.
we are in a huge old spa grand hotel that seems to have come to hard times.
everything is very posh, but you can see that the wood paneling is brocken, the heavy silver tarnished, the carpets getting thin.
the house is empty accept for the workshop group, endless dimly lit hallways, silent ballrooms......do I hear a tricyle?
Reminds me of the Historic Santa Maria Inn in California. I stayed there one time, not knowing that it is on all the "haunted hotel" lists. Creepy as hell.

Yesterday, I turned some leftover turkey into Turkey Tetrazzini, which was delicious. Then I cut up some more turkey leftovers to save and gave the carcass (still with quite a bit of meat) to my boyfriend's elderly neighbor to make into soup. She was so thrilled about it, because she went to some younger relatives' for Thanksgiving and had no leftovers of her own.

Oh man, there's nothing better than a good turkey carcass to soup! I made turkey noodle soup with the leftovers PuffinMom gave us, but it misses something without bones for stock. Still, it's darned good.
Wait... if PuffinMom and Puffin eats turkey... isn't that cannibalism or something?

...All right, I know it can't be what the acronym actually is, but I would be so willing to move to a state that gives you licensure to teach about Nintendo.
National Evaluation Systems
... though Nintendo would be more fun.
And it looks like my test is now rescheduled to Dec 18th! Yay, procrastination?

Yeah, it's not gotten that bad here, yet. But if it keeps raining I'm gonna be real glad I live on high ground to start with. Seems the surface of Lake Vänern is more than half a meter above normal already.

english of course,
the braszilians in fact do know a bit of german
there are a bunch of french and italians as well, and one from india, no one from a country with english as first language in fact, so a wild mix of dialects, wrong grammar and wild guessing of words :-)
