Consecutive saves

In normal English, consecutive means one following another in uninterrupted succession. When trying to overcome poison, say, is this the definition the designers expect people to use, or do they just mean 2 successful saves. Note that the former is more difficult than the latter.

I took it as the definition of the word, so, 2 saves in succession, not 2 saves over the duration of the poison.

So, if you save on round 1, 3, and 4.. the poison ends on round 4.

They mean that you must make the given number of successful saves in a row, whenever they are called for, based on the poison's frequency, onset time, etc. So if you make a save on round 2 and then again on round 3, that's considered 2 successful saves for the poison that are consecutive. If you made it on round 2, failed on 3 and 4, then did it again on 5, that isn't 2 consecutive saves. That's merely 2 successful saves.

You use the normal English definition, 2 consecutive save poisons are nasty.
