extra damage dice are not doubled.
but the +2 wp enhancement modifier is.
so a +1 goblin bane lance, wielded by a lvl 1 cavalier with 16 str vs a goblin, would be
+7 to hit (3 str, 1 bab, 1 enh, 2 bane)
for 2d8 + 2d6 + 14 (4 str, 3 enh times 2)
so a bane lance is actually not that bad, given you fight the monsters its bane vs ofc.
