Complete Adventurer multi-class feats

Product Discussion

Has anyone used any of these feats in Pathfinder? How do you all think they balance out? Should they be used? Do you think Paizo will or should try their own multi-class feats?

I doubt pathfinder will see anything like those feats. The designers have pointedly stated several times they want to promote single class characters, and don't want to promote multi-class characters. As such part of their design policy is to not give out class bonuses without class levels, which was a major part of what the multi-class feats in question did.

As to balance: Some were more balanced than others, however if you used them in 3.5 without ill effect I don't think you'll have much trouble with them in pathfinder provided careful decisions on converting them over.

I would suggest that conversions like this would belong more appropriately in either the general discussion, advice or homebrew forums -- but I'm not going to be a jerk about, simply mentioning my opinion.

My problem is with the "Swift Hunter" Feat (Ranger / Scout) & the APG Rogue (Scout) arch. Should I allow the feat & class (3.5) or rule the APG IS the new scout & throw out the feat.

You could do worse than tossing the 3.5 stuff and using the APG.

The problem is alot of 3.5 stuff is still good & balanced w/ Pathfinder, others not so much. Too what point do "you" (any DM) draw a line & say "no more 3.5", with out looking like a control freak or targeting 1 player.

Abraham, your right this needs moved :)

I start out saying 'No 3.5'.

Allowing things is exception-based. If I haven't explicitly put it on the list, it's not allowed. Right now, my list of houserules has a single 3.5 feat and nothing else 3.5.

Work exception-based and allow only what you list, and you start out with better control. You can expand your list as you need. Let players request things and consider them carefully before saying yes.

It's much safer for the default answer to be understood to be no, so that you don't create resentment for falling back on the default.

I allow everything with the caveat that anything can be banned at any time. So far, Book of Exalted Deeds and Vile Darkness are the only things out.
