Looking for a Pathfinder group in Rockford area (Illinois)

Gamer Connection

I moved to the Rockford, IL area recently and would like to find a group to play Pathfinder with. Anyone interested? Let me know!

Thanks,
Jason

Fellow Rockfordian. I won't be here for much longer (graduate medical school in April/May). But I'd be happy to play a one shot or something.

But if you just recently moved to Rockford, let me tell you right now: get the hell out of there ASAP. Its a dying town, buddy. Don't waste your potential or career in that corpse of a city.

Dear Jason...You know i would if i could, but seriously how far would you be willing to travel? could you dm? and what nights are good for you? If you could answer some of those questions maybe you would get more interest...just saying.

Thanks for the suggestions, gnomewizard. Sadly, SD is just a WEE BIT out of my travel range!

I'd prefer to keep things local - Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Roscoe, etc. I had a couple groups that I was part of at one time, but they involve fairly significant travel now, and it's just not feasible to do anymore.

I'm available to play every other week. Tuesday night would probably be my first preference, though Wednesday night could work too. Saturdays may also be a possibility. I'm flexible to others' schedules.

I'm willing to DM, though it's been a while since I've done so.

Hopefully that helps clarify my situation and availability. Thanks for the nudge, gnomewizard.

Thanks for responding, Rdrp! Glad to know there's at least one other gamer around here.

I have a couple leads from a local comic store to follow up on as well, so I'll post back soon and we can start sorting out details. Thanks for the interest!

In the meantime, could you further explain the "or something" part of your post? Would a short campaign be included (say, one that wraps up before you leave town)?

Thanks,
Jason

I tentatively move out in May of this year. So a short campaign, series of one-shot adventures, or any campaign that isn't longer than, say, two chapters out of a full Adventure Path--these would all be within the time frame I find feasible.

OK, great to know. Thanks for the clarification, Rdrp.

I had 2 leads from the comic store. 1 has replied and said he's not interested at this time - apparently his posting was over a year old. The other hasn't responded yet (I emailed both on Saturday). I may have another lead or 2 I could follow up with as well, though at least 1 of them would be a bit of a long shot.

Questions:
1.) Do you know anyone here in the area who could join us, and who might even be willing / interested to continue gaming after you move?

2.) If worse came to worst, and it was just you and I, would you still be interested in a short campaign or series of one-shots?

I'll post back when I have more info to share.

Thanks,
J.

1) No.
2) Yes, but if it was 1 player-1 DM, I'd prefer to do it over an internet medium, such as AIM or Skype.

OK, so here's an update.

My 2nd lead from the comic store contacted me and said he and a friend are interested in gaming. So that makes me, you, and the 2 of them.

I also contacted a couple friends of mine who live a bit outside the area, but may be able to travel here to game, depending on the day we meet (one can only join us if we meet on Saturdays).

So that brings the potential total to 6!

Could you please email me at jmach31(at)gmail(dot)com? That way I can have your email address and get a group discussion going.

Looking forward to starting up soon!

J.
