Immediately fearing betrayal Lilly rushes forward towards the rope, hoping to draw herself to the opening before they are sealed beneath.

"Eyeball"!!! "What's happening up there"?

Sorry for the delay. Have had a busy week.
As Lilly pushes her way past the others to get to the rope, a man's face appears in the hole. He is wearing a noble's attire, though his clothes are more worn and dirty than would be expected of nobility. He sports a finely groomed goatee, but also appears to have not shaved for a number of days. He laughs down at you and slices a wicked looking cutlass through the rope, "Your little pet can't save you now!"
A second face appears in the opening; Shefton, the half-elf grins down at you, "Haw haw! Ye idiots fell for it and yer dino paid the price!" Shefton's face disappears for a moment and then returns. He tosses a limp shape into the hole that falls through the air and lands at your feet. Eyeball lays on the ground before you unmoving, a viscious slashing wound across his torso. The small dinosaur appears to be dead. Shefton continues to laugh, "You think a tiny little lizard like that is a match for me and my partner Vanthus? You fools can't stop a team like us!"
Vanthus frowns and mutters, "Yes, about that..." Suddenly Shefton's face turns from an expression of joy to one of pain and betrayal. Turning to look at Vanthus, the half-elf's body falls into the hole and hurtles through the air, landing face-down next to Eyeball with a dagger protruding from his back. "I work alone." smiles Vanthus. "You kiddies have fun down there, you hear! Say hi to Penkus' ghost for me!" Ignoring any replies, Vanthus disappears from the opening and a low rumbling noise can be heard as something heavy is moved over the hole, blocking out the sunlight and shrouding the tunnels in complete darkness.

Lilly says nothing as the trap door slides shut. As if in slow motion she moves to the body of the little creature, and gathers it up into her arms, it's life blood staining her armor.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Heal Check
She checks his tiny body for any spark of life that might remain, her fumbling hands clumsy in there gruesome task. Then knowing that the odds are against her she reaches for the power of nature from this awful tunnel. Her will penetrating the yards of dark earth above and around her, leeching what power and lifeforce she can pull from deep extending roots, and lichens, funneling all that power into one desperate attempt to bring back the small creature from death's door.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 CLW
Then still silent she walks to the trapdoor, and looks up. standing there for an indeterminate amount of time...silent as death itself.

Wisdom 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Lerith scowls at the man who closes the door above them from his place further inside the tunnel where he moved to hide. He hurries over to Lilly and Eyeball though, knowing how much the little dinosaur meant to her, checking to see if any of his own healing powers can be of use.
His voice is quiet, feeling the pain from the druid as he asks "Does he still live?"

Eyeball is definitely dead. The wound across his chest is deep and he appears to have some bruising around his head and neck.
As Lilly's attempt at healing magic produces a small bit of light and the party huddles around the little dinosaur's body, a low moan can be heard from behind them in the darkness followed by a hideous scratching noise.
You are not alone down here.

Lilly gently lays down the body of her beloved pet. Without a word she moves towards the sound Scimitar and Shield held at the ready. She will get out of here and avenge Eyeball...but first she had some aggression to work off.
